@AsianCookingmadeEasy .. they taste very similar, I just find one is more dense, the other has little air bubbles .. but they both taste awesome! :)

I loved the video and was so excited to make both versions...... Made the violet crumble first and it looked exactly like the video but was hard as a rock which was inedible.....waiting for the crunchie version to cool down - will keep you posted! so disappointed the violet crumble version didn't work out though....

It's a sticky syrup made from sugar, we have it in the UK. Not sure where you are and if you can get it, but you could just use honey.

Great recipe(s)! As an expat Aussie, I thank you for this! :) Just a note about measurements, in Australia, a tablespoon is larger than say the US, An Aussie TBS is 20ml, a US TBS is 15ml so you need to adjust the measurements for where you are living! :)

Question. I'm having a very hard time finding golden syrup where I live. I was wondering if I could use regular syrup as a replacement maybe?

Are you in the US? Lyle's Golden Syrup is available at most Harris Teeter, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods or on Amazon. The bicarb needs sugar to create the foam so other syrups will probably still get a similar looking result but the taste will be quite different.

Depending on where you live usually you can it in supersol supermarkets or in english shops you can also order multipacks of ebay and amazon.com . Hope this is helpful for you .
