Thank you very much for these videos on rip cut and cross cut for circular saw. I was thinking of buying a circular saw to make boxes and other things. But I was scared of how hard it would be to do straight cuts at 90 degrees. You solved a big problem for me. I will make a video with your plans and link you in it, in 1~2 months. If I have any questions, I will post them here. I'll make something similar for my router as well for a planing sled to make the top surface flat.

Hello there. First of all, thank you for your interest. The reason why I made these tools was the need for straight cutting. This was a really important and big problem. One tool I made became a cutting bench for another. I've made my workshop quite a tool holder. My goal is not just to make tools. Then I'm thinking of making some items for my house using these tools. Please keep following me and don't forget to activate the bell notifications.

Great design, good job! One suggestion...instead of sandpaper, try using the foam rubber mat that you get for the bottom of toolbox drawers, it tends to grip a lot better and doesn't leave sandpaper marks on your wood finish :)
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. Your recommendation is an excellent idea. Honestly, it never occurred to me.
Unless you use the tracks for constructional lumber where looks aren't that important, skip the ø25 notches. Every time you reach a notch, you will get tear-out on the upper side. The edge itself acts as both as an anti-splinter guard and a reference, just put the edge on the line. Make sure your blade is square to the sole *before* plunge-cutting the runner and trimming the rail edge. ;) And make sure your square is actually square when making the runner, as the saw blade needs to be 100% parallel to the guide rail to avoid pinching the blade. I bought one of those small 85mm Worx saws some years back, and ran it against a guide edge. The blade was 't even fully int the workpiece when the blade started to pinch, and the blade warped. Turnex out that the sole was twisted a bit compared to the blade, so the blade entered at a slight angle. There were no way of adjusting it other than brute force, so I stopped using it and bought a 12V Bosch instead. The bosch doesn't cut as deep, but I have a proper circular saw for that (Bosch GKS 18V-Li including OEM tracks).
3 жыл бұрын
Everything you wrote is absolutely correct. It's like an instruction manual for a circular saw manual. Only 25mm notches don't splinter that much. Of course, you can say that if the knife is too old. However, since the sandpaper attached to the bottom also makes some height, even if there is no notch, the event you say may occur. But I didn't experience any discomfort. Thank you for your interest and I hope you continue to follow me.

Hello. I thank you too. Honestly, where I live is pretty low humidity. However, I do not think that MDF plates will be damaged unless exposed to water for a long time. I do not prefer to use MDF boards in case of vertical screw throwing or in places that will carry loads. You must have seen in my videos, for example, if there is a piece in which I will see a nut, I use plywood or hornbeam. I have been using the products I have made for a long time and believe me, I have never had a miter break.

The idea is perfect, maybe a little bit to perfect as i think of. You can skip the holes, the aluminum and the jig the saw is placed in. This is a bit overcomplicated and there is no reason to have these items. I love the idea of the laminated floor boards they are nice and thin and bendable. So get a piece of the wide lamina, glue and tack and screw another smaller piece of lamina say 3 cm (1 1/2 inches) wide and place this piece in length on the first piece by keeping the ends together. Take your circle saw and guide it to the smaller piece cutting the wider piece under it. that's it, the wider piece is now your measurement for further cuts. thanks for sharing

Hello. Thank you for your interest. I chose this method because I did not want to attach or screw any attachments to the saw. I also love using laminate flooring. I have used it in many projects. I wish you a good day

Thank you for the plans and for the video. The PDF calls for 25 mm semi-circles placed every 150 mm along the cutting edge of the guide. What is the purpose of those semi-circles?

Hello there. First of all, thank you for your interest. The half circles were made to easily see the dimension line drawn on the part to be cut...

Hi. Thank you so much. Half circles are made in order to easily see the dimension line on the piece to be cut. You may not, but it really works

Very good ! Where did you find such a flat aluminium guide, please?
Ай бұрын
Hello. First of all, thank you. I bought it from a store that sells aluminum profiles. It is called C profile. If you cannot find the same one, you can use another profile. The same dimensions are enough. By the way, you know that you can find PDF plans in the description section of all my videos, right?
