Nice build. I suggest the muffler should face to the side or up because it will heat the frame.

Yes - you observed correctly. The hot exhaust gases warped the aluminum plate. As a workaround, i removed the cover that directs the gases downwards.

NOT bad, the B&S flat head is FAR superior to their OHV, so you have direct belt to pullies??? when you start it the blades are automatically engaged??
