Hi, any current limiting on the mosfet? Or how do you ensure it won't exceed the absolute maximum rating of 18A for your IRF640. What goes on when the electrode accidentally touches the workpiece?
@mathiasboldt5 жыл бұрын
Dear Divad, there are some resistors 22R 50W in series with the mosfet. If a shortcut occurs the RAM moves the electrode away from the piece.

Do you machine your own electrodes? Pretty cool system. Wonder how hard it would be to turn a small 3d printer into one of these.

Nice ! Precision ?
@mathiasboldt8 жыл бұрын
+jostonepsu Not in the field of 0,001 but I think 0,05mm. The cnc mill used for this aplication is a Taig DSLS 3000, could have a precision of 0,01mm, my RAM has some play, so I think the precision is affected!

Have you heard there is a way to use salt 40% soluction that makes a good finichment and high speed to erosioning ? Only ... and biggest problem is the corrosion that this can cause to the parts of the machine and a hight production of hydrogen, what can be very, very dangerous and explosive.

@rkshireygames8 жыл бұрын
+Mathias Boldt You're not worried about ignition?
@mathiasboldt8 жыл бұрын
+rkshireygames Hi, ignition only occurs if you got a spark on the surface, where you got some vapor, or the kerosene goes very hot while edming long times with a smal tank of kerosene, avoiding this, no problem using kerosene.
