@@marielaarcev My 2 cents. This is a simple set up, the live AKA phase wire is connected to the wall outlet (you need to know which is the live wire) usually the smaller opening in the outlet not the round hole but you can use a multimeter to read it properly or a voltage tester will work as well, this is the wire that gets connected to whatever metal structure you want. The neutral wire you can connected directly to ground and that is it. Do not attempt to do this on your own if you don't know what you are doing, just hire a competent electrician.
@charlesgyening
@charlesgyening 2 жыл бұрын
Hey quick question. So live to the fence and earth and neutral to the wall? Per my knowledge, blue is live and the green/yellow one is earth but you put those in the wall and the brown (neutral) was nowhere to be seen so I assumed you connected that to the fence. Cool. But you still said live and that confused me a bit. Could you clarify this? Mum moved into her new house and there's no security at all and I'm worried about her.

My friend just an update on your fence, what would really make their hair stand up on end is if you can find a old microwave transformer and install it with the secondary side supplying the electricity to your fence. They probably would not get up again. Job done

That s good you touched it with your right hand only.Because touching it with your left hand would give electricity a path near or through your heart to earth.Electricity is always trying to get to earth if possible.But if power is high enough it will kill you through right hand as well.And if you are wet the metals in the water could allow a moderate level of electricity to go through you and kill you as well

Lolololol that’s so funny.. you can also put motion sensors with a alarm on the barbwire, so if anything moves the wire, a alarm will go off This is very simple to do DIY style.. in the uk ppl buy similar alarms for there Bikes and place it under the bike Seat, if you so much as push/ or shake the bike, a very loud alarm goes off.. this can be placed around the barb wired fencing.. These motion bike alarms are very cheap as well The new ones, You can have the alarm notify your phone as well to give you a intruder alert notification wile your not at Home..

Nice setup and will defiantly make someone think twice after getting a good jolt however....anyone with a basic knowledge of electricity will know that all they have to do is cut the hot wire or the jumper wire and that renders your system inoperable. You should see about encasing your wires in a conduit or something that makes them hard to get to and cut.

Can you hide the wires and if they cut the wires would they get a shock?
@lxramirez9788
@lxramirez9788 Жыл бұрын
No with this set up. This installation is done in series therefore if the wire is cut the circuit is shut off. For anybody to get a shock he/she will also have to be grounded and for that to happen he/she will have to be barefooted and the wire cutter with no insulation. On the plus side the person intending to cut the wire needs to know where to cut, if this person is cutting the jumper going to the windows, then the windows will be without power and they will be able to enter through the windows, but anything before the jumper ex: the door it will still be energized.

The only thing I find wierd is that you hooked up your actual house and not the fence. Houses have been using this system in Gambia since I was a child, its not common place, but it is not unusual either. But normally it is the fence surrounding the compound that you hook up and police requirements used to have a minimum size requirement for your sign board placed outside your compound and a maximim threshold for voltage. Dont know the specific specifics, but it is fully legal following watever requirements is set. For example, the building adjacent to the african center for human rights in senegambia area had such a fencing enclosure for atleast 15 years. I know it got sold so maybe the new owner took that out since it is now commercial, but yes. All the cases i have seen, it is the compound fence that is normally hooked up. Plus electric barbed wire. They cant move it if they cant touch it.

110 is still 220 split so please don’t do that to yourself again you could have stopped your heart. The difference is that the us split the voltage between 2 wires and the U.K. pushes the voltage at 220 via a single wire. I know this because I studied electrical wire repair years ago when I was in the military. You can have a electric fence shipped to you from Ghana 🇬🇭 fairy prices. All love ❤️ and concern.

Hey my friend. You must be careful of AMPS. The voltage wont kill but the AMPERES will! You are lucky you did not touch with 2 hands because if 1 AMP crosses your heart you will probably die. The cattle fences are done with low voltage so its just a little zap...unless you try to hold onto it then the voltage becomes exponentially stronger. One security measure you did not mention was LRAD. There is a wonderful video on the channel called TECH INGREDIENTS. check it out! Good luck. Also- you only need to post electric fence on the OUTSIDE of your wall. If the invader is already breached you do not have to give warning.

The way you've built this can be lethal, but you can make it painful and harmless if you want. In the US, you can't leave a lethal boobytrap to protect property. I don't know your situation, but what if a child came to the gate? An "electric fence energizer" runs about 20 USD on eBay, or you can make one easily with used automotive parts. Pepper spray (home made or commercial) could be entertaining combined with a video camera!

lol dont be mad bruv. atleast we know it works. hook that up to a solar panel and a power bank to increase the charge without increasing your electric bill. I would hide the light so no one outside can see if its on. You may be able to hook the light up to a remote AND an app so you'll know if the system is on.

I know it is painful and frustrating to be burgled and am sorry to hear that, but you must always note that in the Gambia, your bugler is often someone who is very close to you!! Someone who knows your ins and outs! It could be your close friend(s), friend of friends, family members co-workers, colleagues, employees, regular visitors, an insider living in the same house, neighbours or a combination of all 😃. So do not just think the burgler (s) is a complete stranger (s). Therefore installing hidden cameras and or CCTV could rather be a good alternative. I hope this helps bruv! Apologies in advanced for any typo or inconveniences cause to anyone.

Don't do this!! It is dangerous to you and could kill a potential thief. Especially if they are not able move away from the metal gates. The electric fences used on farms are not 110 or 220 volts AC. Here is why you should seriously reconsider. The way the system is presently connected means you have 110 or 240 volts AC at potentially large currents. When someone is electrocuted it is the current that kills not the voltage! Electric fences used for keeping animals enclosed are typically pulsed anything from 2000 volts to 10,000 volts. at a very low current! 120 milliamps (0.120 amps) The video was funny, but I don't want to see you get into trouble. Keep up the great content.
