Homemade Fruit Press DIY

I made this Fruit press for around $3 I had most of this stuff laying around. This fruit press works quite well for being made from a car jack and some scrap lumber.

See this is what i love about country/hill folk. can always figure out the homemade version of something. Thank You Cyrus. this was one of two hurdles keeping me from doing corn. Just gotta collect some lumber real quick and build this as my still come up to temp. I appreciate you sir.

Honestly, I wish I could take credit for the concept. I got it from a TikToker. I would have given them credit except I don't remember who it was. It is awesome though. Thanks for the comment.

Nice work man! I already have a frame built and a 2 ton hydraulic arm rigged up, but I think I'm going to steal the idea of using the plastic buckets as a press basket. Also, I love the juxtaposition of the "do it right" bucket sitting in the background while you explain mounting a car jack upside down as the press screw lol!!

Looks good. The only issue I can see is that there "might" be a problem over time (or pressing something hard) with the top board coming off. The only reason I say that is because anything nailed, or screwed into end grain is inherently weak. Just my speculation. Perhaps a couple of angle brackets over the 2 pieces would negate any potential problems? Gonna keep this design in mind for next year....thanks!

I agree with your assessment. I will probably add some plywood gussets for some extra strength.

it could also work with a mash in your mash bag. Put your bag with your mash in your press an squeeze it out

I haven't tried apples yet, but I imagine it will work. Possibly not as well as a commercially produced press though.

Did you drill holes in bottom and sides I couldn’t see that well

I have pressed fruit and grains with this and it has held up well. I can't think of any changes I would make at this time. Thanks for the comment.

I've not tried apples yet, but I assume it would to some degree. I don't think this will be as robust as a commercially produced press.

Hahaha, the sound is meh, the video quality so so. The materials used... Hey, if you got them and it works? Who gives a flying fart. Put it all together and it's some fantastic KZbin content. Love it!
