Homemade gold trap - Trial and error with the Swedish Bazooka

Me and my father testing my quicksand gold trap, (inspired by the amazing Bazooka gold trap). There´s a lot of video posters that babbles alot about whatnot without having anything to say, showing no results! With that in mind i put together this video for rookies like myself. Enjoy! A. Hedlund

Very impressive! If you get the lead, you'll find the gold for sure ........ if you shovel it in. I just finished my fluid bed sluice as well and can't wait to test it like you did.

an amazing lead trap !!!! hehehehhe i'm a rookie too and lead just give me the initial skills to panning for gold, now i think i can do it whit the real stuff, nice vid !!! =)

Watch the water, folks. The sluice is not properly set. A properly set sluice will catch all sizes of gold, up to perhaps 90% of the gold in the gravels. I personally have seen guys catch 200 minus gold in 6-mile Canyon by Virginia City, NV, and at least 80% of it--they did well. But they knew how to set a sluice. No miner moss, just indoor/outdoor carpet under Hungarian riffles. But, hey, I have only been doing mining for 45 years, and consult as a Mining Engineer, so what do I know.... I still learn every day, but I now do underground hardrock, where all the gold is still (at least 85%) is still in the rock. Gold mining of any kind is very, very difficult. If it was easy everybody would be doing it.

The first sluice they were putting full shovel full of dirt in at a time, that would clog up any sluice or at least make it run poorly . The second sluice they said was too fast , maybe it wasn't , the angle of the sluice was too steep down hill. good quality video.

3:10 I saw a huge blurp of material roll right over the top of the sluice & out the back on a very small blurp, barely 1/2 a shovel full. I to built a bazooka, kept modifying it till it know is a relic & do not use. It has more flaws that over come the fluid bed setup. from a fluid dynamics point, not a product point.

What kind of glue did you use? My clear one looks like #@%& with the glue I used. Never seem to have good luck with glue.

I put lead air gun pellets in my pan to practice and lost them. Brilliant idea to pound them out. Something to look forward and try.

right water speed. wrong grizzly,, try bars instead, not puntured metal. (too many spots for gold to slide over)

I think the speed is to fast 10-15 degree angle and 1/4-1/3 the water flow

love your design except your pvc piping is to big taking up to much space in the fluid chamber. other than that it should work well
