Homemade Hydraulic Log Splitter Making Firewood

Springtime firewood processing time. All the trees were hauled in on my homemade 4x4 UTV and homemade timber trailer. Wood is split on my homemade (yet to be finished) prototype wood splitter with hydraulically adjustable wedge height and hydraulic log lift/table. The log bucking process could be changed from manual chainsaw work to a log table with bucking feature so the bucked wood would fall onto the wood splitter and get split immediately (a firewood processor basically). I really don't like bending over while bucking, relocating and then lifting the bucked logs onto the wood splitter again. A log table will be another future project maybe? Let me know what you think in the comments. This video is the first 4K trial on this channel so bear with me. Cheers!

Good to see you back here Donn! Having a baby will do that to a young man. I really like that UTV it has aged well and seems like the perfect farm vehicle.

I like this splitter much better, than the last one with the chain saw on it. It is so simple and will likely last a lot longer.

Thank you for putting in your video the before, during, and after PMCS (preventative maintenance checks and services) of your tools! I have been watching your creativity for awhile. I enjoy the way you build your creations from Idea to physical operational tools or vehicles ! Thank you for all that you do as a "Value" creator ! Michael

Wow, watching this homemade log splitter in action is like witnessing a lumberjack's dream come true! 🔥 Definitely beats the old-fashioned axe method - now I just need a machine to stack the wood for me too! 😂

You should get a hookaroon. It'll let you pick up or move the bucked wood without bending over. We recently got one for our firewood operation, and it's been a total back saver!

Great to see a video where you use the stuff you have made 🙂 I am sure some thoughts about that bucking process and your timber trailer went through your mind as you were bucking with the chainsaw. Video did pop up in both suggestions and my subscription feed so no worries there.

You don't file chains today you can get carbide chains, and chain that can cut anything stone metal glass check it out
@tutekohe1361
@tutekohe1361 Ай бұрын
Those Carbide chains can be very expensive. Often they don’t go blunt, but the link pins wear and they stretch and you end up throwing them out because the pitch lengthens so much it starts to wear drive and tip sprockets excessively. They have their place, but most professional foresters don’t use them.
