@@chrisgiles64 It is very good. I’ll be making more today as a matter of fact. The recipe is very flexible allowing you to season it to your taste. Steve doubles the onion, garlic and salt when he makes it because he thinks it tastes more like Heinz brand. Smoked paprika, coriander, allspice, cayenne, clove… there’s lots of additional options to make it your own. Thank you for watching!

Absolutely! If you love growing hot peppers, check out our sriracha sauce video - this year we're planning on drying the whole ferment to make more sriracha powder as we actually now use that more than the sauce and it lasts longer. Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave us a comment!

It's great that you can make ketchup at home) In Karelia, tomato paste is cooked at home instead of ketchup, with the addition of seasonings it turns out very tasty!

It's awesome you make your own tomato paste. The tomato powder can also be rehydrated as a tomato paste. We love it because there are so many different things we can make as we need them. why did you add so much liquid that required cooking it down ?

Good question. The amount of liquor added is required for the extraction. Cooking it down is not to remove the liquid, it is to condense it down to increase potency. Thank you for the comment.

I knew that question was coming ;) and thank you for asking. Yes you could use honey, it will change the texture and flavor so that is something to experiment with. You can use most any sweetener as a substitute but it may alter the texture or flavor. If you do a honey replacement I would love to know how it worked out and if you had to make any other adjustments. Thank you for watching and for your comment!
