It is told how the tool holder is arranged, which I made for the Schaublin-90 lathe.
Normally, this machine does not have such a tool holder.

The tool holder is fixed with a nut with a handle. Thread in the nut M12x1.5.
The tool holder is attached to the upper slide not immediately, but through a special lining. It is into it that the axis of the tool holder is screwed, and not into the upper slide.
And the lining itself is already attached to the upper slide with four M6 screws. These screws are screwed into special T-nuts. And these four nuts are inserted into the T-slots of the upper slide.
Of course, it would be easier to screw the axis of the tool holder directly into the upper slide. To do this, it would be necessary to make a threaded socket under the axle in the upper slide. I declined this option for three reasons.
If you use a lining, as I did, then a good thing does not need to be spoiled, and the material of the lining is steel, which is plastic, unlike cast iron. And the threaded connection will be less sensitive to non-perpendicular threads.
I carved a boss on the lining. And in the tool holder, respectively, there is a groove for this boss. This boss enters the groove tightly, with a minimum gap. This will be necessary and important for me when I make a retainer for this tool holder.
I made 5 bolts in a row for this tool holder - for the convenience of fixing various cutters. Because the incisors are short. And it happens that in one row it is necessary to put two incisors, which are directed in different directions.
Usually they make 3-4 bolts in a row. If there are 3 bolts, then it is generally impossible to install 2 cutters in one row.
The more bolts, the less force you can tighten each bolt. Obviously, four bolts can more securely fasten the cutters than two.
The disadvantage of my tool post is that it is less rigid than the unlined version. But this machine is not for peeling work. And such rigidity suits me.
I purchased this Schaublin-90 machine with such a tool holder, which is called a soldier. It does not suit me, because it takes a long time to change the incisors each time and expose them each time.
My homemade tool holder can be easily changed to a soldier and back.
