you can use fresh mint leaves if you have them in the garden..... just add them to the milk/cream in the pan when you warm it (same as tea leaves when you make a cup of tea) .... then just strain them out you'll not need to use extract from a bottle, and you'll not need the green colouring

Laura so nice to hear your story about your grandma's idea to eat the egg yolks in the morning. Here in Brazil, when we have a flu, my grandma does the same, but she actually add sugar on it and after beaten, we put hot boiled milk and drink it. It's a beverage and people say it helps your immunity system.

Hi Laura! Grandmothers in Greece also used to make this beaten egg-yolk/sugar "cream" for their grandchildren when I was a kid, and they usually added cocoa to make it taste less "eggy" and more appealing to children. My grandmother never made it, although she had her own hens and we used to go together every morning to collect the eggs when I was little. But I have friends and cousins who have often had it for breakfast!

Laura ,I am from Brazil and we eat the egg yolk and sugar mixture too, but we add hot milk and a little cinnamon to it. its really good when you are sick with a cold or flu. just wanted to mention it.:) By the way, I love your videos. You are really sweet!

Hi Laura, I've started watching your videos from the start and I love them. There's an easier way to make ice cream if you don't have an ice cream machine. It's using just ice, salt, half n' half, sugar (unless the half n' half is sweetened), heavy cream, and the flavorings. There are actually videos on youtube about it. You just type in "how to make ice cream with ice and salt" the videos say to do it with two zip lock bags, but you can also do it using other air-tight containers and a zip lock bag for the mixture. I actually learned the trick in chem class. Just watch the video, try it if you want to and I hope it works for you. Greetings from PR and for me the best way to eat ice cream is soft serve.

When I didn't have an ice cream maker, i would whip the heavy cream, then add the stuff (well since it's a custard, I would follow how to make it, then add it in) then put it in the fridge, but stir it every two hours so it's not like a Popsicle and more like ice cream. I hope that helped.
