Incredible! I suppose its almost invisible from a distance. Is this how angels fly? Its seems a crazy amount of effort for what is essentially a disposable wing. Thumbs up!
@lucaghivarello29599 жыл бұрын
Miner4aheartofgold Yes it's invisible! I have done it for demonstrate the concept (for the secondary school exam) that also with a very few of resources you can do what you believe in (the total cost of the wing is about 85 euros).however i am not crazy and i use the wing only for very low altitude flight and ground handling!
@Miner4aheartofgold9 жыл бұрын
Luca Ghivarello Didn't mean to imply anything about you . I wasn't saying that YOU were crazy. For a student even 85 Euros is a large sum. Keep in mind that the average new glider depreciates at around 10 Euros per hour of use. Can you get more thann 8.5 hours of use? If you call your time free, it could still be a cheap glider. I assume you have the patterns... I am curious about what you did. Is it made of common polyethylene? How did you bond the seams? Did you keep track of how many hours you took to make it? What did you use for cordage?
@lucaghivarello29599 жыл бұрын
Miner4aheartofgold Yes it is made of common polyethylene (used for the greenhouse) How i have connected the line and all the hours of work will be pubblicated soon when i will publish the relation in which i explain all!

Hello!!! Friend, how fantastic your paraglider looks, brother, I can't believe it, it flies very well but a few meters I ask you what kind of plastic, cords you used to make it and in what measures it would be good to make paragliders like this with a simple sail, it is sold all over the world it is used for practices in spaces that do not have trees, it is disassembled, it only has a flat hill for take-off, when the person knows how to handle fly in a common closed paraglider with drawers where the air enters, you can tell me where to get the plans I'll thank you. Congratulations Greetings!
@lucaghivarello29593 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you! The plastic is the one used for the greenhouse and the cords are the ones used for fishing (dyneema material). In the link leaved under the video there are the web site with the planes and all the project explained. Unfortunately it is only a technological dimostrator and i think is not good to be used for practices beacuse could be very dangerous use it.

What thickness plastic did you use? or weight (grams/m^2)?
@lucaghivarello29598 жыл бұрын
Hi,nice question. In this moment i don't remember exactly but it's the plastic used for the greenhouse(it is really thin, like plastic bags).The company that made the plastic is "Verdemax item number 2547"
@ioanhill55278 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I googled it and found it for sale on amazon. "0.05mm thick"... 50 microns. I have some 10 micron plastic sheet which I tried to heat-weld as you showed in your project paper... but 10 micron is too thin, too fragile and just breaks. Maybe I will try with 50 micron :)

Remember that you have to put alluminum paper (used too cook) between the plastic and the iron (if melt put more sheet).It is not easy to found the right temerature(also you can lowered the temperature of the iron)!

How many edit cuts was that??? It almost put me in a seizure. Besides we never got a good solid view of you flying the wing!!!!! The work put into building the wing is impressive 🤓, the video...not so much ☹.

Such BS, I saw these at Walmart for $29, they're one-use throw away wings, like rubber gloves
@ryanfarrell83704 жыл бұрын
That doesn't make any sense? Single-use paraglider wing? That wouldn't even be allowed to be sold, let alone cost $29. Your comment is what's "BS"!
