Thank u for your amazing research. I cant afford to buy pon lechuza so i was looking for similarities since i used to use something similar for my bonsai + cactus. So i follow ur recipe and its been working for most of my plants. Hoyas suffer a bit in begining but surely most eventually adapt. Tropicals do much better. Everyone should be able to afford these beauties and have eady access to materials, should be as easy as buying crayons, and not have abuse on prices

Thank you SO very much! Learning a lot and about ready to place my order online to DIY my pon. Now debating if I should get pumice or diatomaceous rock!! I learned about the ice grip from Fern as well, I think I’m going with those instead of the pricier options online. I also appreciate you stating you’ve been using liquidirt, as that’s what I’m hoping to use once I transfer my plants to pon. (I don’t want to get osmocote as I already have a few plant food options at home). What other plant food would you use about once a month, as you mentioned? I’m wondering if diluted Liquidirt at every watering, plus a little Superthrive maybe once a month or so would be enough… anyway, thank you and oh, the joy of having your grandson around! 🤗

I've always been told NOT TO WATER THE PLANTS FOR TWO WEEKS when starting them in Pon. Is this also true for cuttings? I have looked everywhere but can't seem to find the answer. I don't think the cutting would do very well in dry rocks to start off. I'm totally new to Pon and just got all of my ingredients (although I wasn't lucky enough to find the items you used ) Your video is fantastic! I'll have to try to find an update from this video. Thanks!!

Thank you for this great video! I'm excited to try making my own pon, but am confused by some of the terms being used. If PON is 2pt Charcoal, 2pt Pumice, 1pt Zeolite, do I understand these substitute and product names correctly? - Charcoal = Volcanic Material = LavaGrip - Pumice = Diatomaceous stone = Perlite (suitable substitute for pumice) = NAPA Floor Dry (USA)=Qualisorb (CA) - Zeolite = EcoTraction Thank you!!

Has the qualisorb worked well in your diy Pon? I've made my own Pon using zeolite, lava rocks, and pumice. But it is fairly expensive buying in small quantities. I'm in the US so some of the products you mentioned aren't available to me. I did find eco traction pro for $36 for a 40 pound bag vs a 2 pound bag of zeolite for $13. I also found something called Optisorb that I believe is very similar to qualisorb. A 25 pound bag is $16 vs a 2 quart bag of pumice for $15. It's a no brainer. But I wanted to make sure you had good results before trying it. 🤞 Thanks!!

@@jungleflowerscanada5384 So I just received my two ingredients. The one is Eco Traction Pro as zeolite. My goodness... I underestimated how big a 40 pound bag would be. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 I'm really happy with it. The OptiSorb is 100% diatomaceous earth. However, the pieces seem a bit small. I have been using 1/4" pumice so that will be a big difference. I'm excited to try it and see what happens. Thanks again for all of your help and advice! I'll update I'm the future as to my results. 🤞💚
