Homemade RUMCHATA ★ Real Horchata + Rum = No Artificial Flavors

What's up gals & pals? It's your buddy from the Bronx Coach Vino and today I want to share my recipe for a DIY homemade version of Rumchata. At its core, Rumchata is marketed as an horchata style rum liqueur. While I think it's an enjoyable liqueur, I've always struggled with the taste of its artificial flavors. My recipe calls for a much brighter, cleaner and natural tasting beverage, using a base of REAL traditional Mexican-style horchata mixed with a quality dark rum.
This recipe is the perfect drink to make for parties, get togethers, or just to enjoy at home as a treat. Serve it over the rocks with a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon for a wonderful, creamy, silky treat. Hope you enjoy today's video. Cheers!

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup long grain rice
½ cup sugar
1-2 cinnamon sticks
2 cups hot water
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup of rum
EQUIPMENT:
Container with airtight cover
Blender
Nut milk bag or cheese cloth
Spoon
Mason jar or bottle (3-4 cups)

That's awesome Vino! I may have to give this a try. Never had Rumchata before. I've seen a couple recipes that call for it but never pulled the trigger. I just happen to have some Eclipse that I rarely use. Thanks for helping me figure out to use it! LOL! Cheers!

Theres a restraunt a few towns over from me called Mesita and they make their own rumchata and top it off with whipped cream and cinnamon. Best thing ever, i gotta make some for myself

That’s awesome. The homemade stuff isn’t a 1:1 taste wise but it’s better IMO. Just fresher and silkier. Plus you can bump up the cinnamon if you like. 👍🏾

Thanks! I've never made it with a Jamaican rum. I'm not sure how that funk would work in it. Plus a cup of S&C would be hard to part with. lol.

TIM!! RumChata is basically Baileys with cinnamon and rum instead of chocolate and whiskey. My homemade version is just way more natural tasting. Cheers brother!
