Beautiful Matt❣️ I have a favor to ask of you 😉. In your glass breaking please, please please don't use vintage canning jars. They are irreplaceable and valuable. There are green and blue new canning jars readily available. I'm sure they will tumble up just as nicely. Restaurant's and bars throw away their empty bottles. Many of the wine bottles are beautifully colored and heavy glass as well. Blue Nun wine comes in a cobalt blue for instance. Many times these bottles can be had for the asking. Thank you so much for hearing me out😊. Looking forward to seeing you create with your sea glass. I do so enjoy your work❣️🖖.

I find old dump pits that every old home used to have in the woods. Find lots of great already broken glass so no need to break antiques.

@3:55, you are right Matt, that looks fabulous!! @5:00, love that shell fragment. It looks like when they slice the shells to use as beads. Pretty!

is there any way to shape the glass pieces? Into a heart, for example? Or are you restricted to the shape that it breaks into?

Hi Matt after seeing the sea shells I thought why don't you tumble some for a few days and then you can get same COOL looking shells. I am thinking of getting a tumbler to but I have to wait a bit.

Beautiful! Question though...why not throw all your remaining water and grit and shells and tumbling media into the yard? Presumably it's all natural material from the beach and no harm would come from chucking it back into nature! (unless, as you said, there are synthetic chemicals involved in the process)
@MattsCrazyArt4 жыл бұрын
The grit may be synthetic. I don't know. One guy who tumblea rocks all the time aaid just throw it all in the back yard.

What of I want to keep the glass shiny and Just rough out the sharp edges? Do I just use the fine grit? Any suggestions?
@myfairyblueworld2 жыл бұрын
Very cool but I am wondering 2 things ... How much is tumbling for 7 days increasing your electric bill and why can't you strain the used grit through a mesh strainer and reuse it?
@MattsCrazyArt2 жыл бұрын
The electric bill is nothing - it runs about as much electricity as maybe a few TVs. You probably can strain it and dry it out and use it again. Never thought of that.
@rhaven504 жыл бұрын
The sea shells would make nice earings if you can match them up.
@jameshurley2244 жыл бұрын
You can dump the grit and sand into your yard. Its basically sand and with the shell bits it will have some positive effects. When i do mine its more of a cement then that. Lol i just flush the spot with water and when they cut the grass the spot disappears. Lol
@MattsCrazyArt4 жыл бұрын
My only worry is I added salt to this batch to make it more like the ocean and salt is bad for plant growth. But from now on I will not use salt and just dump it.
@jameshurley2244 жыл бұрын
@@MattsCrazyArt you can do it on anthills to block em up as well . Just a idea.

I am still curious what the difference is if you only use the grit and not all the other stuff and also what happens if you dont use the grit but only all the other stuff
@MattsCrazyArt4 жыл бұрын
I'm planning to use just coarse sand and rocks and no grit next time and tumble them longer
@noaccount24944 жыл бұрын
Wonder what would happen if you used the glass gems or glass marbles. Most are probably coated glass but like real marbles have designs inside. And the glass gems and marbles might do weird stuff in a tumbler. No idea

I’m so sorry this is a long text message but I truly need your expertise advice. I saw the first video you did with some other glass when your new tumbler arrived. That glass was really pretty and to be honest I could hardly tell the difference. Yeah it’s finally here. I haven’t seen the results of this second set you set up 7 days ago, but I’m super excited. Okay... I just recently bought some sea glass from a woman in Maryland she gets it from the river. It pre dates 1920’s some of the pieces are awesome but some are so ugly. I spent over $120.00’s for a 20 piece set, the bottom piece that are almost to thick because of the sugar coating but it’s more manly looking...Also there was another package I ordered with bottoms and it still has the glass edges still attached and I have no idea how to remove those edges so I can have just the flat bottom of the sea glass, actually I should call it river glass lol 😂 but that was another 20 pieces, then what she calls the grab bag which was the cheapest Amount of money had the best pieces of glass with aqua colors and some blue colors, just a little bit of brown and few pieces of white glass and some other colors. I request smaller pieces so I could make some earrings, etc... Anyway, I’m not going to give her a low rating instead I sent her a private message with pictures because her packaging was so poor that several of the very expensive glass that I had to pay for was broken. So it has sharp edges that can cut your fingers. And it’s very disappointing because some of that was the high price glass that I had to pay for and it’s all because she didn’t even use a small good bubble wrap she used the big kind of bubble wrap but it was deflated and she had each set of the different glass that I bought wrapped in tissue paper. Anyway I was really disappointed. I’m just learning how to work with Seaglass and I absolutely love how do you make things look so easy and you just go with it. I have been a jewelry designer since 2008 and know how to use wire also I only use sterling silver. But watching you I’m interested in copper but what is the difference that says copper 99.9??? I also have a website which I will not mention on your site. I call the company that I buy my wire from and I spoke to a Technician to find out how I can correct this Seaglass and he was totally awesome he recommended a Foredom drill but it’s kinda high priced for me at this time over $300.00 and the individual diamond bits and small round bits used for cutting those edges that are preventing me from being able to use just the bottom part of the glass. Is there anyway you can give me some advice on how I can remove those jagged edges off the bottom of the sea glass and how do I smooth out the broken pieces. The guy was really great and explain things to me over the phone and there was another drill they had that was $59 which right now is more in my price range. He also said that the bits that they site would also fit into the lower-priced drill. Do you have a video showing how to remove this issue that I’m having with this river glass? Also could do you maybe make a video on how I can cut those edges off the bottom of the glass without damaging the bottoms and how I move out the broken glass. I really would appreciate it because my dark green bottoms and my brown bottoms I’m gonna make some leather men’s bracelets using those bottoms for the top please for some orders for Father’s Day. Because I have clients that personally call me to do special designs for them and I’ve already said hey I’m gonna have this type of jewelry for Father’s Day. And now I can’t work with that type of glass with the edges still attached to it. There still smooth out but some of the edges Range from 1 inch to a half an inch high I can’t do anything with that. Do you have any Recommendations for a electric hand drill. And don’t worry I will not electrocute myself while using a shallow pan and the sponge to keep the Seaglass from getting hot in the drill as well. Another drill was recommended starts with a G I saw it on Amazon a Dremel I’m not sure if that’s the correct spelling but I don’t know which one to buy. I’m also going to order your tumbler too. I finally found one almost identical to what you have but the price was about 30 more dollars than what you had mentioned in the video when yours had arrived. If you can please help me if there’s anyway to send a private message with my email where we could communicate that would be great. Also those earrings that you made with the different types of wire oh my God I love them I can’t wait to make them but I am waiting on some other colors of wire and I thought you said aluminum???? And the smaller piece you used copper??? They’re gonna look great on me.... OK now it’s time for me to watch your video and I really hope you can help me out you are definitely The DUDE....BAM
