I’ve seen some folks create little nests of the pasta as they go through the roller. So you have several little mounds when done. I’ve never made pasta yet. Thank you for trying it out and sharing with us!

I need to try again. It certainly is a challenge!! I have that particular pasta maker too. Hopefully you will have success with it. 🙂 With white flour it will be super easy.

Great job! You might consider folding your pasta sheets as you run them through your flat rollers starting with widest setting and going smaller. This stage helps to knead the dough and make it less dry. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for this video. What is the name of your pasta roller and cutter?
@Tracy-Hart Жыл бұрын
Hi Laura. You are welcome. All three are Ankarsrum brand and I have the pasta cutter fettuccine, the pasta cutter spaghetti, and the pasta roller lasagna. I hope this helps you. 😊

I've tried working with Kamut, but it never turned out the way I was expecting. I now have a Zorijushi Bread Maker. I love how it kneads bread and pasta dough. I just might have to give this type of grain another chance.

I have the zo bread machine.....i was told for a better experience for pasta to use the lasagna roller first and then run through the other attachment.... I seldom use the Zo though....my kid won't eat bread kneaded with it.....so different than being kneaded with the Ankarsrum.....what do you like making with Kamut? I need to try more recipes.

I use the Kitchenaid Pasta Press for pasta like spaghetti and rigatoni, but you have really peeked my interest in the mixer you're using in this video. Are fettuccine and spaghetti the only cutters available with this mixer?
@Tracy-Hart2 жыл бұрын
@@stevejorde they have a lasagna roller as well. I'm not sure what else....I do have those three. I have two videos on the Ankarsrum. The most detail is in the one with the three mixers. It is a quality machine. The Lots of Dough video shows it with, a lot of dough. 😅 It is impressive what it can do. 🤩

I've made whole wheat bread with the Zojirushi and took it to my school district where I drive school bus and the other drivers DEVOURED it! But I'll definitely do some serious research on the Ankarsrum Mixer.

You can make vegetable pasta, and then they will get the vegetables and the grain all in one dish.

Spaghetti squash??
@KatMa66410 ай бұрын
Well, you could make spaghetti squash, but really what I’m talking about. Is making things like spinach pasta. There’s all kinds of recipes for vegetable pasta. It’s all different colors. Which kids like. I’m surprised that this pasta recipe does not have egg in it. Usually instead of water. The egg holds the pasta together. I haven’t made pasta with my fresh grain yet. I’ll have to see how it does. I’m used to making it with Durham wheat, but it’s wheat that is already bagged. So we’ll see I may actually order some Durham wheat berries.

Have you ever used Kitchen Aid attachments for pasta? If so, do you like the Ank better?
@Tracy-Hart Жыл бұрын
I honestly have not used kitchen aid pasta attachments....but in my experience with the Ankarsrum, I have found that I prefer it over the Kitchen Aid.

Sorry for this silly question but…Do you need to buy both the lasagna roller AND the spaghetti roller to make this?? Or can you make spaghetti with just the spaghetti roller?
@Tracy-Hart6 ай бұрын
I didn't know what I was doing. Someone commented that it is easier to make the spaghetti if you run it through the lasagna roller first. And, that is true. I have since tried it. You could hand roll if you want to save that money before you run it through the spaghetti attachment. There are no silly questions. I'm happy to help. 🙂

Let us know how freezing your extra turned out, was it too dry? Did your kids like the homemade noodles
@Tracy-Hart Жыл бұрын
I honestly haven't come back to the homemade noodles. The family was split on the spaghetti. Some didn't mind the change and thought it was fine. The husband, not so much. I don't have the bloat with fresh wheat that I get with store noodles (and other store bought flour items). I liked it. It is just hard to make time for it plus it is a bit intimidating. I will try it again sometime. 😊

@@Tracy-Hart thanks for your reply! I thought it was very clever of you to observe that your family gets the good nutrition of veggies by using the kamut!
