I took this recipe and adapted it to make it vegetarian. I used vegan bacon bits instead of pancetta and it’s delicious. It’s really worth the effort to make baked beans like this at home whether you’re vegetarian or not. Even just frying some garlic onions and chilli and then add sing a tin of Heinz baked beans is really worth it.

Honestly, this felt like a really nice video from Gordon; he wasn't hyped-up, wasn't doing the traditional yelling thing we Americans apparently love on our shows (not I!), he was just polite, low-key, and interesting to watch. I really liked his original Kitchen Nightmares because it felt more honest, and that's what this felt like, to me. Of course, maybe he was just tired, too. Not sure. Either way. More like this, please, Mr. Ramsay!

A absolutely love chili, beans and tomato sauce. One of my favorite dishes and you can experiment with it any way you like. I love chicken with tomato, chili and vegetable (like starting with onions and garlic of course, red peppers, yellow peppers and a little bits of carrot) sauce and with it some rice. Tea spoon of mustard and cream in that sauce because I feel like it. Pour that sauce all over the rice and just look at all that protein! Just look at it!

Here's one with less fuss: 1.Pan-heat-oil 2.Onions-garlic 3. Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco (brown sugar if you want, I put Chili and ginger powder too) 4.curry paste (the heart of the recipe. A tablespoon will do) 5. Canned beans (yep, but this is a breakfast meal and it's good because you don't need to add the tomato sauce) 6.Turn off heat and add cheese, then mix it around till it melts with the beans 7. Toast some bread and serve
