This is by far the best home made tumbler I have seen, for simplicity and not looking like crap. Awesome job.

I built a tumbler recently using 6 inch PVC with some vanes screwed in the sides to agitate. It works great but this idea of gluing rubber inside is so much easier!

Great idea mate, I use mine to polish brass or tilt it and use it for Hi-Tek coating. For a power supply, I converted a computer power supply into a 12 v supply. More amps and old computer power supplies are cheap. (there are many videos on how to do this on u-tube. My setup will polish 1000 + 9mm cases using 5 # stainless pins, lemi-shine and soap in less than 2 hours. I got my stainless steel pins from e-bay.

After watching this build video, I made one just like it with the only exception being I used 3/4 cabinet grade plywood for the frame/mount. Why? Because I had it on hand. It has performed well.

I used to tumble with walnut shells and never lubed my pistol cases. I began wet tumbling and found it necessary to lube my cases as they were too clean. Will continue to wet tumble as I love clean shinny brass.

How much load can an ordinary wiper motor handle? In other words, how much (in weight) can your tumbler handle before straining the motor? I am definitely building one of these. Thanks!
@hz87s
@hz87s 9 жыл бұрын
A surprising amount actually, I use 2kg of stainless pins so with water and brass I would say it is 5kg fully loaded and spins no worries.

Sacana308 aussiesapphire.com.au where I also bought the media from sells a burnishing compound called MP103, a couple of tablespoons of that gets the job done well.

You can own/shoot firearms in Australia? How? What are the laws down under these days? I though you were completely prohibited to own and shoot anything in the land of oz?
@TheIdeasGuy
@TheIdeasGuy 6 жыл бұрын
Lukáš Duběda the following licences require perfectly clean psychological record and criminal record. Air rifles, single shot, double barrel, lever action and bolt action shotguns can be owned on a category A licence. Pump action shotguns are not included. Lever action, pump action and bolt action rifles are legal with a category A & B licence. Pump action shotguns up to 5 shots and semi-auto rimfire rifles require a category C licence, reserved for just certain farmers. Semi-auto centerfire rifles are category D, virtually impossible for anyone to obtain. Handguns are category H and anybody capable of passing the background checks can expect to pay thousands of dollars in fees for mandatory club memberships, fingerprinting records etc. and must participate in at least the minimum number of official, recorded shoots every year to justify keeping their licence. Our laws are unnecessarily, overly complicated. They are intentionally vague on a lot of points and various laws regularly contradict each other. It is time consuming but relatively straightforward to obtain a firearm licence and it is exceedingly easy to lose it. Minor misdemeanours can and often do see licence and firearms confiscated from otherwise decent people.

Yeah great, good professional job, but I’m fed up with people who say “so I made this with stuff I had lying about and just welded it up” bollocks, I don’t know anyone who a: have these components lying about or b: has the kit or ability to put it all together.

This is similar to what I made. This is mine. I use an 8 amp 120 VAC- 12/24 VAC center tap transformer, with a bridge rectifier to convert from AC to DC, and a DPDT toggle switch, with a center off position, to drive the motor forward/reverse. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIG3pq2nds1gq9U
