DIY is not having your own workshop. He has a big fat CNC machine to precut all the pieces. Good project, but not DIY for sure.

Seriously, DIY = do it yourself and that's what he did, and you could replicate it yourself *without* using a CNC so it'd still be DIY for you too. You ought to get rid of that "too much technology doesn't mean it's DIY" nonsense because you will find that is a rabbit hole that you don't want to go down.

It depends on what controller you use. But there are only 6 wires. 2 for power in, 2 for power out to heating element, and 2 for the temp sensor. On my controller it was labeled on the terminals

Hi Tom. The transfer is heat transfer vinyl. It comes in sheets or on a roll. The design can be made digital and cut on a vinyl cutter. I personally do not have one, so I cut mine on my homemade laser engraver.

I made som cut files for the cnc , but some of the parts was modified after cutting, sthere are no correct drawings, as this was a personal project not planned for sale. Sorry about that. BUt the heatpad, regulator and some other parts are listed with affiliate links in the video description If you live in the US, you can order one from amazon at 120 usd, and it would be much easier to get a commercially made one. the heatpad and regulator I think is 70 usd alone

Ok I get it. Do I at least get help on making the locking mechanism on the top of the press, a sketch or something. Thats the part I find most troublesome to reproduce. Can you vary the clamping pressure of the press? Is your design built that way? It would be great if had that feature.

Love the video, and while it proves that its doable I think you're at an advantage of being in the 5% that has a shop with a cnc to make the cuts that fast lol. I'd be years trying to get that with a jigsaw. But Again Great video to watch.

Great job! I'm considering a custom T-shirt business in local but heat press is too expensive in Australia. So I was looking for a DIY heat press to make it myself and finally found your video.
