We made some up today using co-op gold dish soap and my grandson's sprayed it directly on two different ticks and it killed them!!!! Amazing stuff!

I’ve got a lot of peppermint growing around my garden and some in it. Spreads like crazy other stuff grows with it just fine ,the tomatoes are cucumbers doesn’t bother them. Field next to my garden has a lot of ticks, but I rarely see one in my garden.

I’m trying this. Found our very first tick on my husband’s ankle a short while ago after moving here almost a decade ago! Grrrrrrrr. Ticks are not a happy thing to find! This is the Pacific Northwest. At the edges of the Gifford Pinchot forest. Thanks a lot! I hope it works!

Thanks for the video. Great information. Living in the woods of East Texas, both myself and my dog are constantly finding ticks on us. I can't walk 200 ft in the woods without finding one crawling on me. My dog, who stays outside, is always getting them in spite of treatment of flea and tick control products. Come to think of it, I recall a bug repellent that I had once that was laced with peppermint. It worked great, but then I couldn't find it again. Making my own insures I'll never run out.👍

@@nonesuchfarm160 Well, I bought some pure peppermint oil (16 oz) and made my "brew". Treated myself, then found my dog, and after some tussling, got her sprayed down. It's working great! 😊 I can't thank you enough for posting this video, and the helpful tips in your reply. It's invasive. It's best to sow it in planters, as people have problems with it spreading and taking over where they don't want it.

Hello everone! @@KOOLBadgeryou should try using TEASEL tincture. It kills the Lyme spirokeets. If you feel blah 2days after you start using it, its bc they are dying off. Dont stop using.

I have looked in to limes alot. Stevia plant is better than an antibiotic. Faster with better out come the sweetner will work as well. And as for as your dog and cat...catnip in their food it puts a chemical in there blood ticks hate. But as a whole sprays with peppermint, eucalyptus and even lavender teally work as a repellant. Dr Jones on KZbin is a all natural vet who really taught me so much. I pray this info helps anybody searching. May God bless you and keep you and your furry friends

Any brand will work. I like Dawn because it breaks up oil really well and that’s the purpose of using it. To spread the essential oil throughout the water.

I called my vet and she said that it’s not recommended because there hasn’t been enough studies on essential oils and animals. I have used it on my dog’s legs and know several people who use it on their pets. The amount is so small in this. Also essential oils are not chemicals. They are the natural oils extracted from plants. The only chemical would be dawn dish soap and again it’s diluted enough that your pets should be ok.

I use it on my shepard. She is a long haired shepard. I only use it on her legs. I have heard however that essential oils are deadly to cats. It's always best to check with your vet though.

I just spoke with my vet. She said there aren’t enough studies out there on essential oils for pets. She said it’s really hard as essential oils can be different concentrations. I honestly feel safe using it on my dog as I just spray her legs and I’m not using just straight oil on her.

You need Guinea hens, for just one season, they will desimate the tic population for years. Once they get adultish cut their food way back and they eat all bad bugs quickly.
