If you want to improve your indoor mobile signal then you should add another omnidirectional antenna to other end of yagi as a repeater. But can't promise better signal reception fot your mobile phone. There are commercial signal repeaters with amplifier. Not sure using without a amplifier you can get good reception.

You can get almost 30mbps or more than that. But if you use longer antenna wire like 15-20meter speed may get low. Also depends on signal directly coming from tower or reflected from somewhere else. Hi, thanks for making these videos. Liked and subscribed. I have a few question. Can you help please? 1) I don't have a 4g modem, so can't connect it my mobile directly. Instead can I use ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/kITOZ5KjhNqVq6s ) this type for mobiles? 2) My ISP gives better speed at Band 3. So should I set it to 1800 mhz? Or 1700 mhz like wiki link. (Lowest as you mentioned). 3) How does non metal boom perform? I am asking because I don't own a drill.
@AmateursDIY4 жыл бұрын
Thanks 1) It is a basic signal repeater. It should work. But i have no idea how to find correct dimensions for that repeater antenna. I also had the same problem. Some people say to use yagi antenna as outside antenna and some omnidirectional antenna (usually whip antenna or you can use biquad antenna) as indoor unit. But commercial repeaters have amplifier between these two. You can search them in aliexpress. But they are expensive. I saw on instructable.com some people made this without amplifier. 2) I think you should use 1700mhz. Because FDD bands use two frequencies to transmit. 3)I have no experience in non metal boom. Software developer mentioned in manual that non metal boom also has to work perfectly. I don't think there is a huge difference. I you are getting reflected signal like mine you can try Biquad antenna. I also posted a video on that antenna. But it has lower gain compared to yagi antenna. If you are getting signal directly from tower without bouncing off from any other surfaces yagi antenna definitely work for you. Sorry about my poor english. 😬
