I could tell you all about how my life has changed since our adult son with severe learning disabilities died in 2022. He was 37, so you can guess the hole that is in our lives. But there are too many things sad and happy. But through it all, I have had my KZbin families/channels that I subscribe to. They have given me an escape and encouragement. Thank you, Lynette, you are one of my go to families.

I am 53 yrs old and 5 mos post stroke. My vision was greatly affected....Ive lost 60% of it. Im using January to slowly clean out abd donate (most) anything that ive been holding into but haven't used in over a yr. I love your show for so many reasons. Your family and the things you do. I've been with you since you were in another state. To see the kids grow and time passing is so unreal. My goals are simple. I'm 76 and getting rid of so many things. I just don't want to leave the "unwanted" for my daughters to deal with. I am home bound due to Chronic Pain and seeing things a mess just adds to stress. Hello from the middle of Nebraska! I was asked to take over the funeral dinner ministry at our church. I hesitated as I often have obligations in helping with our 7 grandchildren who live 4 hours away. My family has to come first. However several of the women who help with the funeral dinners assured me they would be there for me if I have to be gone when a funeral dinner occurs. I have been praying about it and have asked God to guide me in this new venture. I also would like to do a bit of traveling with a friend who recently retired. My husband still works 6 days a week at our retail store and he is not a traveler. Recently my friend asked if I would like to go to Florida in April and I hope to be able to go! I’ve watched you since you lived in Ohio, your 2 boys were very little. True, Quality over Quantity. 15 years ago, I started getting rid of truck loads, I didn’t even realize how I had kept gathering things. So that was big for me, and I feel so much better. The beginning of the year is reflection for me also and setting goals, then working toward them. You’re a great inspiration for young and more mature as me. I'm excited to be a licensed driver again, as the cataracts were so bad I wasn't able to see to drive, neither read recipes, etc. Now my vision is super good. We started our own business to stay home with our kids. It did so much better this first year than we expected. Lots of sourdough bread, baking, jams, salsa, pickles. Last year, I set up a family challenge to declutter 2,024 items from our home. We succeeded and finished in September. I was excited that our family had a minimal Christmas and seem to have really changed how we view items. Much to my surprise my kids and husband asked to do 2,025 in 2025! So here we go to make do with less!!!

I am making this year a Declutter and downsize year. I’ve said a goal to Declutter donate or throw out 1000 pieces or items. That includes everything even furniture. We just downsized to a one bedroom home. Our kids are grown and on their own so we didn’t need anything big. As you know, you began to acquire things and sometimes you really can’t see it until you feel as if you’re smothering and all the clutter. I’m really excited for this new phase in our lives. I’m excited to actually get to spend a lot of time with my husband not having kids. We’ve alwaysdone for the kids and no one ever kept my kids so we raised them and didn’t have too much time away if any. So yeah, there’s some exciting things gonna happen this year and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

I always go on a vegan diet for lent unless I'm pregnant because it's so easy for me up hold food up as an idol. Last January, I “destuffed” my house. Now, a year later, I plan to declutter again. I’m a year older, I keep seeing things that can go. So, as soon I get all Christmas stuff stored, then I am DECLUTTERING my cottage. When that’s done, I am DECLUTTERING my garage.
