I’ve synced my HomePod Mini that’s in my kitchen with my AppleTV, so I can go get a drink from the fridge and not miss any dialogue (I can’t hit pause while watching with others remotely). That way I can keep hearing the show while I do what I need to do.

One of the most comprehensive HomeKit videos I’ve seen so far in all my browsing. We seriously need more people to see your uploads bro! But then again, it’s up to Apple to step up their Home products capabilities. It’s frustrating because the potential is huge but the progress is slow. More people need to know about this, but people aren’t going to look for it unless Apple creates more HomeKit products and services. Chicken or the egg? 🐓 vs 🥚! Hey Shane let me videos have a question about HomePod mini when you set up other people why is it when my wife speaks to the HomePod mini it always says who is speaking how do we fix that
@ShaneCreates3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I get that too. That just happens when the homepod is unsure who is speaking. When you have Personal Request and “recognize my voice” turned on, this happens sometimes as Siri tries to recognize the voice in order to execute personal request. I would just say, make sure she has Siri enabled on her phone and turn on “recognize my voice” in the home app settings. Also, on each homepod you can select a “primary user” that the HomePod will default to when it receives a request that it doesn’t recognize a voice for.

Any chance we get a review on the Level Lock bolt?

I’ve been waiting for some locks to support Home Key. Then I’ll probably do another video on that.

When making phone calls with my HomePod Mini, I get no audio. Can you assist with this issue?

Is there a way to shut Siri up from responding? This seems to work or not work randomly on different HomePod mini’s - can’t seem to pin it down. I think my settings are correct… and I do know how to tell Siri to lower her voice - just not low enough for me. 🔊

Preach! I don’t need to be told that lights are on. I can understand having a verbal response if the command fails, but not every time she successfully runs a shortcut or home lighting change. Also - give us “whisper mode”, a la Amazon Echo, or at very least manual, granular control of Siri volume setting.

Another great video Shane. I learned some things!I have a HomePod mini, An Apple TV (non 4k) and an LG TV that all have airplay 2 in my living room. If I say play in the living room, is there a way to have it default to one of these devices? It seems to default to the HomePod mini, but the other devices are hooked up to my stereo System and sound so much better.

Thanks Gregg! No, don’t think there is a way to do that, since those are AirPlay 2 speakers. You’d have to pair them with the HomePod via Airplay manual I believe.

Is there a limit of how many Homepods/Homepod Minis that you can have in a home? Paired together and/or paired together?

Good question. Only two can be "paired" together, as in a stereo pair. But as far as multi-room using AirPlay 2, I haven't heard of a limit.

I hate the way the HomePod mini start playing the last song when I hit the top by mistake… Is there an easy way to make the HomePod to reset to noting to play after use…?

You can try adjusting the Hold Duration in the HomePod's Accessibility Settings. Maybe that will help. I haven't tried using this.
