I noticed that, after making the list and eating a hearty breakfast, the top things on Homer's list were for him to spend time with his kids - even above making arrangements for his own funeral. I wish they did reruns of classic Simpsons in the UK a _lot_ more, it's just nicer to see this Homer.

I’ve been watching the whole series on Disney +. I’m currently on Season 23, and naturally I have finished every classic era episode and this one stands out as my all time favorite. It isn’t the funniest episode but it blends comedy and drama so well. Many people love “Marge vs the Monorail”, “Cape Fear”, “Last Exit to Springfield”, and others. However this episode is perfection and near the end I really teared up. Many people overlook this episode but I am in love with it.

This episode used to make me cry. My grandfather died very suddenly when I was four and I never got a chance to have a goodbye and I like that he did all these things even if he didn't die at the end. So many never get the chance.

This was a great episode. I had this and a dozen other episodes on video tape when I was a kid, and I used to watch it every weekend. It felt different as a kid. The seriousness of it didn’t dawn on me. Now, as a 32 year old with a wife and a kid, it hits so hard. I’m 100% sure that if I had 24 hours left, this is pretty much what I’d do. Also, I’d apologize to all the people I’ve hurt in life. But mostly this.

It missed out some of the best bits. Where's the five stages from the leaflet? Homer's reaction to each is SO him and the line from Dr Hibbert gets me every time 'Mr Simpson, your progress astounds me'. Seriously, how could you cut parts out, the full scene shows how awesome the early days of the series was and had some of the best writing ever.
