It's actually kind of inspiring how Homer takes it all in stride and does what he can with his family.

I noticed that, after making the list and eating a hearty breakfast, the top things on Homer's list were for him to spend time with his kids - even above making arrangements for his own funeral. I wish they did reruns of classic Simpsons in the UK a _lot_ more, it's just nicer to see this Homer.

I’ve been watching the whole series on Disney +. I’m currently on Season 23, and naturally I have finished every classic era episode and this one stands out as my all time favorite. It isn’t the funniest episode but it blends comedy and drama so well. Many people love “Marge vs the Monorail”, “Cape Fear”, “Last Exit to Springfield”, and others. However this episode is perfection and near the end I really teared up. Many people overlook this episode but I am in love with it.

It missed out some of the best bits. Where's the five stages from the leaflet? Homer's reaction to each is SO him and the line from Dr Hibbert gets me every time 'Mr Simpson, your progress astounds me'. Seriously, how could you cut parts out, the full scene shows how awesome the early days of the series was and had some of the best writing ever.

My dad is not the kind who plans an outing with the family, but during his last few days he was optimistic about it, I wish I wasn't a dumb kid who didn't notice what's going on. It's been 9 years.

0:52 Even though Lisa kinda deserves blame for asking Homer to try out that sushi place, he chooses to get mad at Marge because he thought she would back him up in denying Lisa her wish... Its funny how he said no one has heard of a poisoned pork chop, ITS CALLED SALMONELLA!!!!!
