Always start w the center panels and work your way outwards on each side. The center panels set the whole side. I highly recommend Tapcon anchors to secure the gazebo or pergola if its concrete.

Thanks! I installed a similar Pavilion/Pergola on my new terrace and anchored it using expanding concrete anchors (they came with the pergola). My terrace is 10cm/4 inch thick concrete/mortar with 2cm/0.8inch ceramic tiles on top. Do you think I need to waterproof the holes I made to stop water getting under the tiles, freezing and lifting them up over time?

I installed (by myself!) the 10x12 purple leaf gazebo this weekend (during constant rain)- your video was the best one that I viewed. You provided actual close up installation video and tips on installation - the highlights for me were not tightening hardware (leave "loose") installing the roof in stages and to work from the middle panels first (so screws could be installed and reached!) also location of the ladder - all great comments and suggestions. I hired our long time builder to dig footings and he was astounded that it was "perfectly square" when he measured - I never touched a level - just the followed the directions and your "tips" - thank you so much!

I'd like to also advise, be careful with some of the aluminum parts can bend / pinch easy and if they do.... You're not going to be happy. I had to bend / fix several parts that the roof panels slid on. I also want to say... Instructions said 3 people.... Using the drill is a must, if you want to be even faster and happier while building go ahead and pull all the hardware out of the plastic and put it in some labeled plastic bowls or get some of the metal magnetized trays to hold them. @Home RenoVision DIY I have almost the same Gazebo from Costco and some of the center roof panels are not bolted down on both sides but held down by the adjacent panels... If you are in a windy area like I am, that doesn't work. Since i am not interested in searching for my gazebo roof in the neighborhood, I tied them down with zip ties to the frame. Holes for the ties to go through are already stamped in the panels. Little hack great benefit.

Good build! Took you more than 3h30 (more like 4h30). Gazebo assembly's are all different even if they look similar so make sure to always follow every step of the manual in order to prevent losing time. (Check twice, install once). Also, this is a very simple model, don't get fooled into thinking they are all this fast. The fast majority of models of 10 x 10 will take a good 5-6 hours with the proper material.

I'm gonna catch flack for this, but I couple the allen key bits with a 4V screwdriver (Ryobi) when assembling furniture. The reduced power prevents over-torqueing the fastener / stripping the threads when you run the drill in high speed. As you say; right tool for the right job.

Nice job. Only thing I would've done differently to save more time, would be instead of labeling the bolts by pocket, I would label them by number 1-4. Still keep them in your pockets, but just work clockwise by number/pocket. Front left=1, front right=2, rear right=3, and rear left=4. This way you're not calling out middle left as a hole location, and then someone calling back front right as a bolt location. Not only could that get a bit confusing, but them just calling out a number is quicker as well. Every second adds up, but you still did great on time either way.

I went over and found a crap 10mm nut driver and sawed the handle off. I then used a battery drill with that "socket and did all tthat work ion jig time. I just hand threaded the bolt on a thread or two and then used the driver to tighten everything down. All the threads were clean because we had just removed the bolts so we didn't need any power to "chase" threads. We got all those done in 2-1/2 hours because of the time saved y using the driver. Well I lost the cover first as it was cloth and shredded like Eddie VanHalen on a good night. So I ordered a new one and tossed up a tarp. Funny thing is I was going to change it this weekend and Rain filled the tarp and now I have a twisted scrap pile of metal so I'm going hard top. Also in this video, I saw you put in a hook in the top center. Can it be changed with a bolt? I like to attach an electrical box to run power and hook up a ceiling fan with an extension to keep it cool. The 12v fans are very light and effective if you add an additional 10-15" extension bar.

How did you attach it to the deck floor? I am attaching an aluminum pergola to a composite floor that's hollow underneath.

Bought the 12x16. There’s 3-4 of us and it took us about 7-8hrs includes drilling it to the concrete. Had bad weather too, we had to stop halfway due to some snow 😂

Awesome video, thanks! I installed one on my new terrace and anchored it using concrete anchors. My terrace is 10cm/4 inch thick concrete/mortar with 2cm/0.8inch ceramic tiles on top. Do you think I need to waterproof the holes I made to stop water getting under the tiles, freezing and lifting them up over time?
