My house was a mess when the kids were small. It happens. Don’t feel bad about having your family help because they helped make the mess and it teaches them how to deal with it. Keep going!

Downsizing is a great idea. Unless you have ten kids, my opinion is people don’t need a big house, plus all expenses will be cheaper.
@nancylanderson80122 жыл бұрын
It's such a good idea to simplify the contents of the classroom. The more "little" things kids have to dump and kick around the floor, the worse the reorganization becomes. Plus I do believe everyone learns better and feels better in a calm environment. Congratulations!! The room looks terrific.

This is real life mess!! I’m glad you had everyone pitch in because you shouldn’t have to be overwhelmed on your own. It seems like lately you have just reached your limit with the clutter and it’s helping you make all these hard decluttering decisions! I’m proud of you
@momofjstk2 жыл бұрын
Retired homeschooling mom here! We homeschooled for over 20 years and I don't regret a single moment. I also discovered that a house with active kids requires regular decluttering. It's not a one-and-done, but best done as often as you can bring yourself to do it. At least twice a year, I still get excited to go through everything and tame any hot spots that may be threatening to become major fires! It gets easier and I think it was more seasonal when the kids were young. So much stuff coming in! The room looks great!!
@LeafLikeOnATree2 жыл бұрын
I think that is great advice. Every pass i make it gets easier and that encourages me to keep going and get rid of more and more.
@momofjstk2 жыл бұрын
@@LeafLikeOnATree You are exercising those "declutter" muscles!! Eventually, it becomes so much more manageable even on low-energy days. You'll find that what looks like a big mess tidies up in such little time because everything has a place and it just needed a little TLC. (not a big "I have to think about every item" type of cleaning!) Love your videos!!
@pbondcasa2 жыл бұрын
It will benefit your kids so much if they have to participate in the cleanup. Accountability for their own contributions to the mess teaches them to put things away. They are old enough. A chore chart is a major helper!

Looks like you did exactly like I would: focus on laundry, pick up trash, then deal with the not-trash mess. Focused rounds like that make make the job feel much less overwhelming.

I think if I had little kids now, I'd also home school if it was financially possible for me to stay home. My children are grown. But, I work in an elementary school as a lunch lady, and your right, the stuff that goes on at the elementary level with the kids is crazy. They have to much influence from social media and from each other to complete with what they see on social media. It's really scary. I'm in Illinois. So, I'm guessing this is happening everywhere.

I just found you and have to say.... Where have you been my whole life??? Your sense of humor and honestly- the RAGE.... is what I SUFFER most with. It can be all consuming and it's not the person I want to be. I agree with the concerns with the education system here. My daughter is 3 and started her preschool education this year. She has a complex medical condition that requires constant observation and to be honest- I don't trust the school district to supply a quality nurse to ensure her safety. So, we made the choice to homeschool. My days are balanced between her medical needs and her educational needs. Right now, that's how it has to be. Hopefully, things will change soon, if not that's okay too. You're an inspiration. We can get through this together.

Homeschooling momma!!! We’re strictly child led or unschoolers. It’s completely changed our lives. I struggle with anxiety, depression and chronic pain due to a nerve disease that limits me. I've been homeschooling for about 10 years now and we had about 20 times as much stuff as you guys! I just decluttered and gave away a lot but this is really inspiring me to let go of more. I feel like sometimes that aspirational homeschool stuff can almost be "guilty" clutter, like it just makes me feel bad that we haven't used it. Also I just started using TGATB with one of my kids last year and it's so nice, in part because the books are really minimal. I love that there aren't all these separate teacher guides to deal with. I know it's not the focus of your channel but if you ever do more homeschooling content I would watch the snozz out of it. I really appreciate your honest style!
