+The Good News Channel I don't know how protected you want your kids to be from The Bad Things In The World, but I go to a half-day arts school, and some of those kids attend the best high school in the state, public but very selective, and there are still some seriously messed-up things happening there.
@alyssatony37017 жыл бұрын
The Good News Channel It really depends on the reason you decided to homeschool them. Was it because you wanted to protect them from the world? Then do you think they are mature enough? Was it because you wanted to spend more time with them? Probably shouldn't, because high school has a higher workload, so less time with family; more time doing homework. Was it because you wanted to know what your kids were being taught? Depends on the school, but most likely, even if you know what's being taught, you don't have much say in the matter. Of course, it really does depend on the school they go to and other aspects, of course. At the end of the day, do you really trust them to make that decision? Pray about it, too. I'm guessing your kids aren't this stage yet, so you will have to see how they "look" when they reach 14. Hope this helps!!

I feel like this is only unstructured homeschoolers. I was homeschooled for a couple key years and homeschooling had no summer school, no early recess, and most of the time we were done by lunch (we had to start school by 9am sharp, and have all our chores done before then).
@lauraberg68727 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was always done by the time my sister came back from public school, and my test scores improved, and I don't remember having to make up any days.
@shadamyandsonamylover7 жыл бұрын
Laura Berg to be fair, most of the other homeschooling families I knew were super unstructured and had to keep repeating years. I definitely think there's a right and wrong way to do things. But yeah, at least for me there was none of that stuff.
@esmeevanthof997 жыл бұрын
Shadamy And Sonamy Lover Did you have to do school work during the weekend too and did you finish by lunch in later grades too? I go to public school and I definitely can imagine that you can work more efficiently, but 3 or 4 hours a day is just the time that I usually spend on doing homework (not every day, but definitely if I have tests or Latin homework). I do have extra classes, so that might be it, but still.
@roseyellen61787 жыл бұрын
+Shadamy And Sonamy Lover , there isn't a right or wrong way to do homeschooling. Homeschooling is independent, everyone does it somewhat differently.

Honestly, I've always just been curious about how the cafeteria works. Like, they just put your food on the tray? Do you have to say anything, or do you just go sit quietly at a table? I don't know why it fascinates me so much, it's probably actually really simple and most people don't give it a second thought. But, it baffles me. XD

Strawberry the Glaceon Public schooler here! Most cafeterias have lunch lines: everyone grabs a tray, looks at the food options and tells the lunch lady what they want so they put in on the tray. Kind of like Subway... They grab a drink and walk out to a table. Some days have different meals (ex: pizza friday or chips and dip) ;P Then again I just bring food from home... I haven't had actual lunchtime since 7th grade (currently freshman), my schedule is too tight since I'm in all honours classes so I eat in class ;;-;;

Lol I actually have been to all 3 types- homeschool, public school, and public school online. I was homeschooled until 3rd grade, went to public school until 6th grade, and have been back home at a public online school since 7th grade. Although I loved homeschooling, public school online works well for me because my mom is working, so it takes the load of structuring my classes off of her (I have actual teachers for each subject, and deadlines, just like regular public school- but I do my work from home!). No, I didn't like brick-and-mortar public school at all, but I guess you could call me well-rounded. Or even super well-rounded. :)

@couragew62607 жыл бұрын
well it was all Pretty accurate but its really not as bad as it is if you do your homework. I mean some homeschoolers (me included) get to a certain grade in a subject and then our parents either a. get us classes for certain subjects at a school or b. take us to a teachers house to learn. either way its really not too bad. the only bully to speak of is you have a fight with your sibling. and honestly homeschool can be either good or bad depending on the parent. some parents are not even really teaching their kids school. thankfully my parents are better than that.

Summer break "Why did I skip so many days?" do math was so me. But I wouldn't trade being home schooled for anything.
