ACE's paces are great. Academically solid and they don't break the bank. Master Books has a bunch of courses that can work for multiple ages, so your high schooler doesn't have to be on their own for everything. I already bought everything for next year. I wanted to beat the spring rush. The biggest challenge, besides trying to work with a very small budget, are the electives. We need 4 credits of electives in addition to 2 visual/performing arts and 2 foreign language.

So excited to see what you're sharing for high school. My oldest goes to public, but my second child is in 7th and will probably be homeschooled in high school. Trying to wrap my brain around that.

Get an Apologetics Bible, it helps to show us why we believe what we believe. I love, love, love my Apologetics Bible.

I can't wait to see what you chose for Bible. My oldest will be going into 9th, too, and I haven't found Bible for him yet.

Has anybody on here ever done LUoA? I’m diving in to homeschool for the first time ever and my son will be in 10th grade. Have been learning SO MUCH from all of you who have been homeschooling for years. Wish I would have done it sooner!

So excited to follow along! I'm far from teaching highschool, but it is probably the thing that makes me the most nervous about homeschooling all together! Can't wait to get a look inside what that might look like.

My oldest will go into his ninth grade year in July. He will be doing mostly online/DVD classes too. I'm looking forward to seeing all of your curriculum choices.

I decided to homeschool my 9th grader for the first time ever! My husband and I had different views about it in the beginning but things have really changed in public school and surprisingly my daughter is 100% on board. Im looking at masterbooks 9th grade curriculum but still open to something else. Im scared but I want to be as prepared as much possible. Im looking at our state education department today for requirements. Any advice is appreciated!

Hello I have a question, when you go to the district to put your student in homeschool do they accept you right away? Or do they required anything? What do you have to say when you go? I’m really trying to get accepted

Okay is anyone else concerned at the overwhelming support/guidance for parents who homeschool and the lack of mentioning of the students who are on the receiving end of this teaching? I’m headed into freshman year and I thought I’d check KZbin for support or tips and it’s all very aimed at parents, and I don’t know if it’s just me but it’s a little weird how students are left out of the conversation surrounding their own education and mostly left to fend for themselves

My son isn't alone. My 9th grader has a circle of friends all in high school that are homeschooled and it's been very beneficial to him. We pick out and discuss curriculum together every year, and he's 100% involved in his own education. Most kids are probably not searching for homeschool tips like the moms are, which is why you'll find most videos are targeted to the moms. When my son is looking at youtube (with our supervision), it's usually about cool stuff; how things work, toys he's interested in, games, etc. He's not searching for a circle of friends online. Hope that clears up what you're seeing.
