The Handmade Homeschooler - Mandy Maltz yeah I agree I don’t find mine than hard, most people always look at the negativity side of illness and I train of thought is what’s the point moaning it could be worse. Keep up the good work with your channel

You have my sympathy and empathy. I also deal with two different chronic health issues and I'm currently expecting baby number 6. Unfortunately pregnancy exacerbates my health conditions. I realized that I'm not going to be able to do everything during our home school year that I want to so I've tried to set it up for this coming year for my children to work as independently as possible. The hardest part for us is that I have three children right now that are age 4 and under. My older two are a great help in taking care of their siblingshow when Dad has to be gone and I can't get up off the couch. I've had to remind myself that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to his purpose. Good will come out of this both for myself and my children.

It's hard with littles around! Prioritize everything you can, and focus on those big, important things. I go through different seasons with my illness, and sometimes it's much harder than others. My family chips in when it gets to that point and we all work together. Having kids who can work independently is such a blessing. It will work together for His good, and yours as well. Blessings to you, momma! Remember, the sparrows are taken care of, and so will you

I just found you today but loving your channel! Thank you for this! I have fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis. My husband’s biggest concern with homeschooling was my chronic illnesses. This helps so much!

Cierra Mazingo so glad to hear it! I managed to get through school today, and I’m in the middle of a flare up. It can be done, and I know you can do it! Good luck and I’m rooting for you ❤️

Thank you for addressing this. It can get discouraging to see not only homeschoolers, but also business owners who "do it all" with ease and energy that I know I'll never have. Battling several chronic illnesses means lots of unknowns. Planning is hard because I don't know when the down days will come. But grace, a more relaxed approach, and a bunch more grace gets us through!

Laura Noelle so true. Since that video was posted, I was diagnosed with two conditions and I’m trying to manage them. It’s been such a long, hard road. The Lords grace has gotten me through one day at a time.

I love this! I have lupus, RA, fibro, & migraines. Thankfully with age the migraines are getting fewer and fewer. But the others are slowly getting worse each year it seems like. Jan & Feb where I live are our main winter months and honestly I could just hibernate thru them. The cold hurts me the most. I’m a newer homeschool moma so all this advice is greatly appreciated.

(I'm binge watching your channel.) Your story reminds me of my own. I have suffered from migraines since I was 16. At 24 they changed to these horrendous, most pain ever headaches. For years I was misdiagnosed given pain meds that didn't work and made to feel crazy. Finally through my own research and many, many doctors later (like 15 years later) I was diagnosed with Cluster headaches. The treatment for clusters is way different than for migraines. Oxygen is my best friend! Looking back on my younger years I WISH I would have known about homeschooling...my life would have been so much more peaceful not having to fight for myself and my kids due to my illness. I am 49 now and raising my granddaughter who is 9. I am fed up with this virtual learning nonsense and homeschooling is on the horizon. Your channel has a wealth of information. Thanks!!

Your illness with your migraines are very identical to mine. Unfortunately nothing has helped me and I never know when it is going to happen. I also have other illnesses so, you are definitely giving great advice on not planning so far ahead. I learned the hard way. I’m glad I have an older child that can help with the little one. I try to use curriculum that others can help my younger child with. I also have cubbies with each subject that keeps their daily work in it so it is easy to grab. I may have some sick day school work instead of regular curriculum so that they are at least doing something. Organizing your life for the what if is the key! It’s good to know I’m not alone with homeschooling with an illness. I hope you get better and thanks for sharing 🥰

I completely understand. It can be quite lonely with an illness. It's hard to navigate everything in life on top of it. I'm trying out some new glasses for work (I work at home), so that might take some of the edge off. I just take one day at a time, that mindset helps me a lot

What do you have in the house that makes it easy for them to make their own lunch? Food is a huge struggle in our house. We are trying to eat Whole Foods, and gluten free unless we make it ourselves bc of sensitivity. Bc of having Crohn’s disease, I have to make everything even down to stocks for soups. Thanks for any advice.
