Uncle Larry turns over some rocks on the shallow shores of the mysterious River of Life, and takes a few pictures with God’s camera that he found laying on a park bench…with the lens zoomed out as far as it can go.
Oh, and he tries out a pedal too…
i want to sincerely thank the dear boys at Universal Audio for sending over a nice coffee mug and comfy t shirt...much appreciated my friends.
if you are feeling like your life sucks, watch this about 3 times in a row, hug your kids and have a beer....call your boss and say "thank you for the opportunity to make a living"
• Life In Africa's Bigge...
so....we have a LOT of new viewers recently
i never ask anyone to subscribe or "smash that like button"....
if you learn a bunch of stuff from this channel and feel like it's helping you as a player, all i ask is that you PLEASE throw something in the tip jar
where is the tip jar?
You can make PayPal donations to this address:
tombukovac@gmail.com
You can make Venmo donations to this address:
@Tom-Bukovac-1
AND...you can purchase a myriad of Homeskoolin' related merchandise..including several different T-shirts and some beautifully constructed coffee mugs for those afflicted with thin lips...
dvg-inc.shopli...
AND....believe it or not....i have a new website people....an actual proper website.
thesessionman.com
You can see all kinds of weird old photos there, you can also purchase a download of the live concert i did last December if you like.
A lot of these very same new viewers don't seem to know that Uncle Larry made a couple records that they could potentially listen to...
one is an instrumental solo record called "Plexi Soul" that is available here:
tombukovac.ban...
another is an instrumental collaboration with his dear friend Dean Deleo (originally from the Stone Temple Pilots organization) that is available here:

Uncle Larry, it’s important that you understand how much your listeners get out of your “classes”. It’s not merely the technical mastery you share but possibly more important, the wisdom you share. For context, imagine how much you would have loved getting to hear Chet Atkins or Merle Travis share their early experiences both in the studio and out. I hope that puts it in the right perspective. We love you man.

I don't normally comment on anything but, Tom just said something in this video that is so true and bares repeating to every guitar owner to consider ... "Just of yourself as the custodian of that instrument until your death. That's what I do. Nobody owns anything, we are just holding. We are renting these instruments for our lifetimes."

my dad had a seafoam strat hanging in his studio, I remember seeing it growing up, he did sessions out of our garage and apparently the strat belonged to his guitarplayer friend TJ. TJ took it back eventually when we moved outta that house and I regret to say I never got to play it.

Neil Young said it best in “This Old Guitar” This old guitar ain't mine to keep Just taking care of it now It's been around for years and years Just waiting in its old case It's been up and down the country roads It's brought a tear and a smile It's seen its share of dreams and hopes And never went out of style The more I play it, the better it sounds It cries when I leave it alone Silently it waits for me Or someone else I suppose

Thank you for that perspective and "zoom out" on life. My wife says to me every day "Each day is a gift" and younger me would readily agree and identify with it as a pleasant platitude, but 62 year old me, having lost too many friends and family, recognizes it at a visceral level. I used to step into Mass St. Music when I was in school in Lawrence. I never saw the 38 Martin... At that time, they sold mostly new fenders, so I wasn't a huge fan. All the guitar nerds would spend time in Whitey's. He had racks of vintage guitars and other oddballs that he picked up at guitar auctions across the country. I still have one of the guitars I bought from him and it's a one in a million guitar. Everyone who plays it can't believe how much better it is than their favorite. My family can sell it when I die. Until then, it will always be in my collection.

I'll tell you the story some day 8) One of the last times I was in the hospital there was a sweet young lady that brought my lunch and dinner every day, she was a bit socially challenged. She asked my name every time, even after a week. So I started saying "Fred Flintstone". She thought that was so funny, so every day after that it was "here's your lunch Mr, Flintstone, here's your dinner Mr. Flintstone". It was great to see her smile and we became friends. She has a hard time with life sometimes, and that made me feel good. Sorry for rambling 8( --gary

A Korean War veteran who became one of the few teachers who at first scared me, then inspired me to look outside of myself as he taught us about the holocaust. My jaw dropped, my mind opened and I became thirsty for history. You never know, that film you’re kids watched may have opened their mind. I agree wholeheartedly with you about being thankful and grateful for what we have because there are a lot people living in horrible conditions we can’t even imagine. That said here is a nice wet blanket you can crawl into. My dad, an old master sergeant in WW2 and Korea had a stroke awhile back and I was pushing him through Walmart in his wheel chair. We passed another guy in a wheel chair who could not sit up at all and was leaning over and drooling on himself. I looked at my dad and said dad you really need to stop feeling sorry for yourself. Look how bad that guy got it. Things could be much worse. My old man looked at me and said “No one told me I was in a fucking contest.” Some people can’t be cheered up,
