Darlene, I think you are a wonderful lady. I live listening to you. Have never made a quilt before but about ready to start after 56 years, inspired by my grandmother and mother whom are no longer here. I did pick up crocheting years ago and love it. Just wanted you to know so Appreciate you. Dorothy Crocker

You might appreciate this story. When these rag quilts first came out, a friend of mine decided to make them for her grandkids. I think she had 15 or 16. After making a couple, she decided it was making a mess in her washing machine and dryer so she started doing them at a laundromat. One day the manager happened to be there. He approached her and said, “so you’re the one messing up my machines!” He banned her from the laundromat! I thought it was rather inconsiderate of her to not clean out the machines, but we all got quite a laugh out of a 75 year old lady getting banned from the laundromat.

I recorded this back in 2019. I have no clue what I did, lol. I did whatever you saw me do in the video.

I don’t always use batting as two sided flannel squares are already quite warm. However, I always do the cross on each sandwiched square as it looks more like a real quilt. Granted it’s an extra step that’s purely for the look but it doesn’t take long when you feel one square after another like a production line. Your quilt using cotton looks interesting as I didn’t think those fabrics would provide the fraying to look like a rag quilt. Will definitely have to try it. 😊
