It was a big surprise to see a video posted from you! Thanks for showing us all the critters. That Mr. Tom is the most gorgeous turkey, I just love him! And those bunnies..........so darn cute and sweet. Sorry to hear about their shelter getting blown down, but happy that none were harmed, and you had a place to put them. Thanks for the video, and glad to see you are all doing well. Looking forward to when you are off in the summer. Love and hugs from Karen in Iowa!

So glad you’re still making videos :) Any plans of milking your boer girls once y’all decide to breed? For the first time in a long time I’m jumping into something new as far as animals go… going with dairy sheep… I’ve heard it’s very different from milking goats or Jersey cows… wish me luck! My goats were the pickiest animals I’ve ever had. I keep hearing the sheep are the most efficient feeders as far as feed conversion goes.

Dairy sheep sound interesting. Be sure to let me know how it works out. Yes, still making videos and wanting to make lots more than I do. I just have too much going on at the moment and not enough time. I plan to do a lot of videos this summer...counting down the days. :) Yes, we do want to milk our goats when we do breed them. It will all depend on my job and if I have enough time. I would love to find a stay at home job. Once I get my house done and paid for, which will happen in a little less than 2 years, I am hoping to be able to work less outside the home and more at home. :)

@@HumbleLittleHomestead I completely understand! And I’m sure it will help being off this summer too. Man that would be the dream for me-to work from home… I hope it works out for you :) I’ve always wondered if boer would make decent milkers. Hope you have the time so you can share with us.

I saw your video on harvesting potatoes. I do something similar to you but I dump my potatoes containers in a plastic baby pool, you save more of the soil for next year. The pool is also good to mix soil, manure, etc.. just an idea to make life easier. Big fan. Peace.

So cute! I love the new bunnies! Do you guys think your still keep some holland lops? Also carrots has gotten so big! 😍
@HumbleLittleHomestead2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, we did keep some of the holland lops. Brooke sold all hers because she wanted to take a break from rabbits for a while. The ones we have left are Miley’s. She did breed one of her hollands, so we will see if she has babies. She tried to breed Bumbleston, but she never had any. I think they are all getting too old to breed but she’s keeping them as pets. Unfortunately carrots was sold, she was Brooke’s. 😕

How sweet the bunnies. I would be cutting those chicken feathers so they can’t fly. Good to see you Ladies. Enjoyed the video. Thanks

Yeah, we usually clipped wings so they would stay where we want them, but since working full time, I've slacked off. Glad you enjoyed :)

What happened to sweet pea?! I think I remember nutmeg passing, but I thought y’all still had sweat pea :( But I understand gotta save as much as you can on the feed bill. You went from all disbudded goats to almost all horned!
@HumbleLittleHomestead2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Sweet Pea died the fall of 2020. :( She got sick and we tried treating her for various things, like worms, low copper, infection and she didn't get better. Early that spring she had triplets, so having 3 may have wore her down. She was also pretty old, 10 years. It was heart breaking. She was the first baby goat born here and basically grew up with Miley. :( All the goats we have are her offspring. We didn't get the triplets disbudded in time, so that's why they have horns. After having experienced both disbudded and horned, I think disbudding is better because those goats are always getting their heads stuck in the fence.

@@HumbleLittleHomestead I remember the video with her triplets! Ah that’s so sad. Omg yes about them getting stuck in the fence… you are right, disbudded and polled goats have their advantages.
