I think those paper jar lids are for when you pour paraffin over jellies in the jars. They are mainly to keep dust and dirt out of the jar in storage. I think my mother had them at one time.

All lovely! The garden will look so clean and quaint with the metals gone and a bunch of your wooden trellises will be lovely old fashioned for sure. I want to make a twig arbor for the entrance to my garden as a threshold. Some grapevine would be fun to use. Then o want to make a twig woven fence around it to keep the bunnies and varmints out. But they are so cool looking. Will take a while but a little weaving along the summer and maybe into next year a perimeter 2-3’ maybe even 4’ fence will be done.

Another wonderful Thrifty Thursday full of useful finds! Seeing your cute mesh plant protectors in the garden made me think of something I saw on KZbin recently where a gal picked up small mesh waste baskets at the Dollar Tree, along with garden ground staples to keep them secure, to protect small plants in the garden from rabbits and birds. Love seeing you "think outside the box" like you did with that cute wicker basket for your trowels. Not too much longer to wait for gardening season!!!

It’s warming up here but all I can plant have to stay on my deck in back of the house. We are surrounded by deer, birds, squirrels, etc, who would help themselves to anything we grow! That's what I was waiting for too, I wondered if I misunderstood the title. Meaning something small bought was worth every penny in usefulness, rather than in monetary value. Hopefully Tessie will put me right. Loved seeing it all anyway, I too adapt things from their original purpose, I can understand the joy in finding a different use for the tree supports.
