Well Hello Tessie this is your friend from New Jersey. I Love your Lemon Tree. Oh Tessie I have and Aloe plant that is so big. Aloes are very good to have for burns. I was camping one year and a little boy fell in his campfire and his DAD brought him up to the camp store and asked if they had anything they could put on him. Well the lady who owned the store had and Aloe plant and she rubbed it on him and he never had a scar. I also Love, Love, Love plants. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed Evening and Stay Safe my dear. 🙌😊❤🙌😊❤🙌

Tessie, I have three lemon trees that my hubby got me at Tractor supply in pots on my deck. They are doing really well and have buds on them. One is small that I got for Mothers Day so that's not budding yet. I put citrus fertilizer in the soil and they are doing pretty well. I keep them inside until its safe with no frost. I am growing an avocado from a pit. I am so thrilled. I wasn't sure it would do anything but it's coming along in a pot on my windowsill. I don't claim to have a green thumb just having fun playing in the dirt and it's relaxing.😊

You need a small furniture dolly or rolling pot stand for your lemon tree. Then it would be easy to move. If you have a fountain, place your aloe vera plant close to it. It will thrive! I learned that quite by accident this yaar. Does your lemon tree produce lemons?

You might want to try mixing sand in the Aloe soil. Aloes like good drainage and soil that doesn't hold moisture. I do a one part soil one part sand mixture ( half and half) and water only once month. It loves the sun.. My aloe plant is enormous.

Yes maybe I will bag her some of my Florida sand and send it. I do the same about a 50/50 mix. I'm from the North. Michigan. Lived in Florida 27 years. Lived in Los Angeles y went to University and work for nearly a decade. As well as Denver Colorado 4/2 + years. And Las Vegas Nevada for 6 months. Could never ever keep aloe vera going. Until my late thirties when I made it to Florida. I have huge aloe vera plants now. I don't water them the way I was taught to water plants up north. Sand definitely will do the trick.

I have an aloe that is about 2 ft high. I just use miracle grow potting soil and water about 1/2 to 1 cup water once a month. It continually grows and I get many pups from it. I transplanted it last year in June and it has 7 pups that are about 12 inches long. The key is just water sparingly bc it can live without water for a little while as it stores water in its “leaves” this is what works for me. I live in NC but I do not put it outside it sits in a SW facing window. Good luck with your aloe.

"Keep your lamps trimmed and burning. Keep your lamps and burning. The time is drawing nigh... Children, don't get weary. Children, don't get weary. 'Til the work is done." Remember that old gospel song, Tessie? I always think of that one when I see you maintaining your oil lamps. Like the wise women of the Bible, that's what you do. I hope all your plants are happy in their new pots! I think that lemon tree might actually outgrow your living room one of these years! It looks beautiful. You truly were blessed with a green thumb. And you have made good use of it. Have a cool, relaxing night after all that "heavy lifting."

We have been repotting plants this past week, and I use an old sheet that I lay down on the front deck, when I repot plants, which makes it easier for me to clean up the soil that ends up all over the place. And homemade cleaning clothes like yours are a great idea. I have made similar ones for friends who have babies. She is a Mennonite and also uses oil lamps and it's interesting how FEW Amish and Mennonite families with small children have so few mishaps with oil lamps.

The soap is superior to any I’ve bought, makes great gifts and you can really get creative with herbs, flowers, colors and fragrances.

I hope my grapefruit plant eventually grows to be the size of your lemon tree. While cutting a grapefruit, about18 months ago, I found three seeds that were already sprouting in the grapefruit. I planted all three seeds but only one survived and it is now about a foot tall. I have been "hardening off" the plant for the past six weeks and now it stays outside on the patio off my kitchen, and will spend the summer there, until early to mid fall. The leaves are very similar.

It seems I need my oil lamps the most in the summer when my electric goes out from the thunder/lightening storms we have so much.

Does this type of oil create soot? I see you lighting them everywhere all the time so do your walls turn black? I used to burn kerosene the blue kind because of the ambiance and the rustic feel but the place where i used to light them burned black from soot .

No there is no soot , The more you use oil lamps the more you are used to making sure you trim the wick and keep it set low
