I'm also 69. What I've appreciated about aging is how the years have filtered out so much of the worldly cares and concerns that ultimately burdened my heart. It has shown up in things like not caring about going out without wearing make up but focusing more on caring for my skin. Removing toxins from my life, etc..

Happy New Year! My word for 2025 is patience. I have become a full time caregiver for my hubs who was diagnosed with an untreatable cancer the beginning of Dec. For any of you who are caregivers you know patience isnt always easy when dealing with people who are crabby a lot. I am making a plan this year of things I plan to get done. January is a big one. I have a man coming to replace the kitchen ceiling fans and lights that no longer work. Putting new tires on the van and fixing the window that fell down on the job and buying a new battery. February, removing and donating my bed and dresser and setting up my new to me 1923 cast iron bed and getting my old dining table out and my new free table in. Each month has chore listed with the most important one being getting the power back on in my living room then getting heat installed. With God's grace and a little help I hope to have all my chores done by year's end.

I caught a sale at a local store and had a 30% off coupon so I paid 45$ each for my ceiling fans with light kits in October. Now I need to start using all of it. Happy New Year for you and your family :) I don't have any New Years's resolutions, I have a bad back so I don't know what I'm able to do this year. I'm pretty happy with the thingsI've done last year. Tear the old barn apart, and build a green house at that spot. Removed my vegetable garden and build a chicken coop. And a couple of days before christmas I started with another chicken coop and it's almost finished. After that the plan is to make some raised gardens, I'm not getting younger and it is more 'back friendly'. So I'm not setting any big goals for this year, I'm quite happy if it all works out.

Most are important to me and my life’s story but sadly probably not to my daughter for her to keep them. I'm 58 years old and the only New Years resolution I have been able to accomplish is the year I promised to eat more chocolate.😂 After that triumphant and very "heavy" year, I chose to ask God for a word of the year instead. This year that word is FREEDOM! I'm very excited to find out what all that will entail! We paid off our house in 2024. My car will be paid off in July then we will be debt free! I have a feeling there will be more meaning included in that FREEDOM word! God only makes good days!

Every January I come up with something new that can help improve my life. I've been doing money saving challenges every year since 2023 and they really help out. I just put the money away for when we really need it. I'm addicted to money challenges now. This year I bought a planner. Maybe it's routine for most, but it's something new for me. 2024 was a rough year fir me. Husband had a heart attack 1st of the year and my father passed the end of the year. I'm so overwhelmed with things I have to do now that I thought maybe a planner might help clear up some of the chaos. I hope everyone has a great year in 2025.

I think we can all relate, Tessie. There are things I would like to do and am trying to do, like decluttering, organizing, finishing a knitting and quilting project, but my main goal is to spend more time "thinking of things above" and less time thinking about and getting dragged into the craziness all around, - being quiet inside to be a pleasing place for God. That will mean cutting back on youtube viewing and more time doing spiritual reading and reading that helps me learn, like the new cookbook I received for Christmas! Happy New Year to you and yours! And in my faith, today is the last day of Christmas, (so Merry Christmas too!), which is an 8 day feast. Now we are in the Christmas Season which will end when the three kings arrive! This video is so nice! My daughter was telling me about goals and New Year resolutions, and what she does. She said she gets an old frame and divides it in quarters. And then places her goals in one quarter at a time because then it is not so overwhelming to divide them up into quarters instead of an entire year. I thought what a great idea!
