Seems to me there are a few people who only open your videos to have the opportunity to give a thumbs down, without watching the video. How very shallow of them! Thumbs up to you every time, Tessie! And thank you for being so brave as to put yourself out there like this. I'm sorry you have been taken to task for appearance, language, anything. You are brave. lovely, of pure heart, and so kind! Thank you for all you do - and I'm so sorry it takes nine hours per day for your yt effort - wow! Wish it weren't so. Most of us would not care if you did not edit your videos at all, so maybe you could lighten up on that? Hugs for you.

This is such a joy for me ! and having you in my life as to the thumbs down ,I used to be so bothered by them ,At first I even cried over it ,I took it personally ,I realize people are hurting ,and in deep Pain some of these thumbs down I believe have been following me a long time and as I grow in my Spirit ,and be more confident they are upset over that .and lash out ! I hold no ill feelings ,in fact it makes me want even more to share love ,I never want to be like them and someday I pray say something to help change their perspective on Life

Hi Tessie! I learned something from a comment section a few years ago. I live in deep South, and limited dark areas in my home. I was told that putting old socks over your jars of food can help keep light off them! Hopefully info will help some of your subs. Have a blessed day! Thanks for all your great tips!

@@OICUR12 Hi. If your lids are metal, then yes, at some point it will rust. Also moisture can leach into containers if not glass. I keep my items inside 5 gallon pails, and use something that can keep items dry ( those silicon bags that come with shoes etc, I save and put it in pails too, or make your own with rice, or desiccant PKG on Amazon or other place) I also keep an eye on the pails. I also just subtract 2-5 years off my "use by date" due to humidity. Your food may also get very hot under your house? That will shorten the use by date also.

Hey Tessie. You probably already know this, but just in case. If you plan on making frozen french fries, do what Ore Ida does. Partially deep fry them first, let them cool, then freeze on a sheet pan in a single layer before bagging. It works. Love the potato buckets.

I'm blessed with a dirt basement, that's where my grandparents kept their extra canned goods and root vegetables. Its a constant temperature year round. My papaw buried his cabbage heads upside down in the ground even in the winter. Cabbage never froze. I know people who take green tomatoes wrap them in news paper place them under their beds in the dark and have tomatoes all winter. They just unwrap a couple set them in the window and let them ripen. There are videos of people who know how to preserve eggs all winter. 🙏🙋☺ There is a lot of ways to preserve food out there. Cause way back they didn't have mylar bags or freezers, fridges, or even glass canning jars. There is everything from salt cured meats to smoking. 👍🙏🙋💞

Go ahead. Call me crazy. I live in a one bedroom apartment but its like little houses glued together. Have own front yard and have been growing herbs peppers and tomatoes on my front patio. Soooo yes problem with potatoes. This winter I am going to try storing potatoes. Some in box in hall closet with holes cut into it. Closets stay cold. The other way...my bedroom in plastic basket with holes. Room stays very cool. Will cover with beautiful light cotton cover. Will move them (stir!) every week and pray over them. Also i am canning a dozen red potaoes. Of course I have instant mashed potatoes😒😒but am grateful to God for everything I have. Am almost prepped for 8 months. So proud. 62 year old Dr. Fell and paralyzed my foot 5 years ago.Widowed. Had closed Practice for 3 months in Naples Florida. Was returning home and fell up a step paralyzed left foot, broke tailbone, stuck out for 9 months, nurse came everyday to dress it. Cracked bottom 3 discs...trust me when I say your life can change in a moment! So still in Kentucky. My sons and grandchildren are in Naples. I can't afford housing there and don't want to burden sons in prime of their career. Good news. I now have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and am trusting him for money to move to country in Northern Florida or South Georgia. 8 hours away from my precious sons is much better than 17! If anyone has any ideas or advice I am so open. God bless you all and much love and many blessings all winter to you and your families. good morning Tessie. I love watching your channel, I learn so many things from you. You bring back memories of my helping my grandmothers back when I was young... that's been a year or two since I am 75 now. I have taught my daughters how to can and preserve food. You never know when they will need this knowledge and besides if we don't pass on the skills we learned (like food preservation, quilting, gardening and so many others) they will disappear completely. Back when, many generations lived together or at least near each other and all these skills were shared. Just as the husbands and fathers passed down their skills to their sons, the mothers passed down the homemaking skills. We have lost so much to "modern" times. Luv ya!! Just keep on keeping on and I will keep on watching.

I am convinced that metal, like your potato buckets is the most effective way to store things! Translating that into the kitchen, I've discovered that aluminum foil is my best friend! I wrap my deli meat in foil, and it lasts at least 3 days longer! I wrap half used onions in it, and it doesn't give off odor in the fridge, etc. The uses are endless! Lol, even in the case of aluminum trash barrels, we discovered that they hold down the odor much better than rubber cans! Love all the beautiful colored jars in your canning storage room

I live in the Las Vegas area which gets very hot during late Spring to early fall. My daughter had canned chicken that she didn’t have room to take when she moved to Florida. My garage gets over 115 degrees during the summer and my husband placed these jars in the garage without realizing the "heat" problem on canned foods. When I found the jars I was concerned if they would still be good to eat so of course I did what every canner does and I checked for the seal, smell test and chicken was still like any of my other newly canned chicken!

I have not seen one this tiny on any of the youtubers that I watch. My angel is a family whose daughter is a very close friend to my youngest daughter and has been since the 6th grade. Her parents and I got to be friends through our daughters. Sheila has gotten some health issues and no longer cans so she gifted hers to me because she knows that I help out with my grandkids. She is such a sweet lady, her and her daughters even washed all the jars before bringing them. When her daughter Jamie was small she was very careful of who she allowed her to hangout with but she told me that she like my daughter Kaleigh because she could tell that she was raised right. And she always allowed Jamie to come to my house. That made me feel good. Anyway Kaleigh and Jamie are 24 and still best friends. lol

Tessie I recently subscribed and have been watching as many videos as I can. Like you I lived my early adult life in mobile homes and all but 1 were in mobile home parks. I now have a house but I still have fond memories of my mobile homes. Love that you are on an acre. I do not have a basement or other cool area for food storage so this was a great video for me. Thanks so much for taking the time to get these videos out. I don't know much about youtube but I read on another channel that it helps if I watch the ads instead of deleting them. If so, I will continue if that helps you. It's one small thing I can do for all that YOU do. And I try to read all the comments so it will take awhile to catch up on your videos. People have great comments! Thanks again for all the knowledge you are sharing.

Mrs Tessie I have my canned jars in my garage and am in central Calif. I run a water cooler from Home Depot and it keeps it pretty cool while our temp is about 100-107. I do a lot of work preserving and hope everything stays safe.

Wow, that is an awesome price for potatoes! I did notice how God provided those just when you really needed them. Blessed be! I really liked the video tour. I got to see the room where you have baskets hanging from the ceiling. Funny thing: the metal containers you use for the potatoes are the kind Preppers would use for Faraday cages. Thank you for another great video. Have a great Saturday and I will see you on Sunday. :).

Good Morning Tessie and Friends, Well here we go again with another big downpour it's looking so gloomy out as I type this message it's getting dark again. I thought it was going to clear up and I would see the sun. It's predicted to clear this afternoon and I'll once again see the sunshine. I sure hope it does I'm so done with this rain. Looks like the weekend will be nice and sunny I am looking forward to being out in the sun again. This has been the rainiest summer to date and I hear that this is predicted t be the worst growing season on record. I sure hope that this is not the case we can only pray for good weather soon. It's now raining yet again. Have a wonderful blessed Friday hope you have a sunny day where ever you are. Of coarse it's always a sunny day in Tessie's place. I think we can all agree Tessie brings out the best in all of us with her warm bright smile and uplifting message. Have a great day my friends:) Keep smiling :)

Good morning Owen! One of the news stories from my area this morning was about a man who was having his morning coffee at home when he heard a woman yelling for help. He looked out his window to see a car up to the door handles (and rising) in water. So he ran outside and grabbed his row boat and rescued her. Yeah, we are not loving the rain much either 😞 it's just crazy. Here's to a hopefully dry day 😊❤🌞👍 have a good weekend too!

Hi Tessie. First time viewing your channel. We are blessed with a cellar, but I appreciate your advice. Good job of 10 lb bags for one dollar each! We use a LOT of potatoes on our main farm. My husband and brother in law go through fifty pounds in no time. They are out cutting hay today. Happy 4th! We raise grass fed beef for breeding stock. Looking forward to watching your chanel. Thank you for the great video and advice. I live in Tx and we only use window units in some of the house. I was asking on my canning group about this, as I just started canning last Dec. My kitchen faces N. so it's pretty dark in there and the a/c is only on when I'm in the kitchen. So far my jars have not (thank the Lord) unsealed. Today it was pretty hot in the kitchen and living area. I do keep ceiling fans running also. Your video was very informative to me. Great price on the potatoes as well. I love sales. God Bless and Thank you. P/S I saw your life changing video, it made me cry like a baby so happy for you.

Yo! Been living in Houston for 34 out of 38 years, and most everyone is *totally dependent* on luxuries and there is little in the way of applied knowledge. My lights got cut off about 15 days ago and I've been trying to adapt ever since. Coming from a metropolis, I realize I really don't have any survival skills, just heartiness and a will to learn and work. Your channel looks badass. I look forward to more opportunities to learn common sense tips. Keep it up..
