I am graduate in Civil Engineering and Architecture with about 40 years experience. I don't agree with what he speaks. He says river sand is better than M sand which is not true. River sand in nature is not properly graded. Sand used for construction contains particles from 4.75mm to 0.002mm. There are several seives in between. A properly graded sand has particles mixed in such a way that they have almost no voids. River sand or ungraded sand may lack certain fractions resulting in voids resulting in porous structure. This may affect the strength of concrete and also because of voids the reinforcement may rust. So always use properly graded sand- certified sand. (Every standard manufacturer has this certificate or you can have it tested in a lab). Particles less than 0.002mm is avoided because they are smaller than cement particles. Metal in concrete has about 30% voids. Sand is added in such a proportion to fill up these voids. Cement binds these particles to make them a one piece structure without any voids. Again about curing or providing water to concrete/plaster- Hardening of cement is a chemical reaction in which water is a part. It is a continuous process, very vigorous initially and it's intensity reduces slowly. Initial periods are very important. Since it is a continuous process it needs water continuously. There are a lot to say but this is my comment about this vedio in short.
