@scottmcnulty70
@scottmcnulty70 Күн бұрын
@@WytchieBytch And the saddest part is we both have stories like this and they make up less than a millionth of the stories. My cat lived with us after that until he finally had to be put down. One last good day out of many bad ones and then he was ready. Smart cat, again. Our current puppy who is no longer of that age was abandoned. IF he hadn't been, we wouldn't have him but that doesn't excuse abandonment. Total separation anxiety which is a problem but we get him good drugs for it. The cat was like a rekindling of an old Samurai man, and would sometimes pat the ground by the flowers my wife planted. The dog "sam" sleeps with one of us every night and of all the things in the house, we've both agreed that he deserves to be pulled out even ahead of us. I'm starting to see the white in his hair and it bugs the hell out of me. Those people who think cats and dogs don't have souls aren't in any position to know, or to have either an animal or a soul of their own.

I had to put my cat down 2 months ago. He had been fighting a metabolic disorder that made him burn calories faster than his body absorbed them. As he deteriorated, additional hurdles popped up that just made it harder to find a magic combination of meds that could help him rally. Towards the end, he lost his sight to an aggressive eye infection that turned his eyes cloudy in a single day. I dont think I could have stopped it even if I'd have been watching him all hours of the day. Even after he lost his sight, he would still come to me when it was time for his medications. In the mornings after I woke up, I'd sit in front of the space heater (cuz I dont have a fireplace), and he would always make me put a shirt across my lap so he could lay on it like a little hammock. I'd scratch his chin, and he'd grab at my finger tips with his toe beans and look sleepily at me. I miss the hell outta him. They might not always understand things in the moment, but when they feel loved, they trust you to care for them. Love em while they're here.

What I love about this movie is how beautiful it was made without anything over the top. The story, adventure, sadness and happiness. Everything was done well without any fake face moving like in newer movies with animals. All it needed was animals and voiceovers. No cgi on animal faces when they talk. And how beautiful story it could tell without it.

The Bear (1988 movie.) The greatest joy you'll ever know is the unconditional love of a pet. The greatest sorrow is that you'll outlive most of them. Lost three 16-17 year old dogs over the last few years. Thought I couldn't bear to get another animal. Had an 18 month old dog that needed a home pop up on my vet's Facebook page. Looked for a few days before I called. She said she thought of us but didn't want to impose so soon. When we met him, he was the sweetest little knucklehead and I had to make room in my heart for another animal.

I LOVE that more people are reacting to this iconic film. This was such a staple of so many childhoods 🥲 Everyone assumes this is a corny 90s movie for kids but it has some of the most meaningful and emotional dialogue out there. When Shadow lectures Chance on the loyalty of a dog after they believe Sassy died, or Chance’s monologue at the very end about Shadow’s triumph and his own realization of having found his family. This film is so much more than what it appears to be.
