Thanks for the breakdown. This really helped me understand the poem better. I think his references to R&J is him saying we missed the point of his tragedies. If we worship the people we love, rather than being aware of the defects that make us all human, we are doomed to the same fate as Romeo and Juliet.

Omg thank you so much for such a fantastic analysis .I've been trying to get into Shakespeare in my latter life as I never did any in school I've been looking for someone to explain and explore the themes of Shakespeare and yours are by far the best you explain it so well and read them excellently .great job on you videos I shall definitely be watching a lot more of them.so thank you so much. keep up the great work that you do .

One of my favorite sonnets that I only knew in Russian translation (a very good translation btw). Until now when I finally red the original and found this wonderful analysis with a lot of historical references that explained many of the “why's” I had. Carrie, your analysis and your speaker’s skills are outstanding! 🔥 Thank you! 🙏
