Some people build and decorate for themselves and some build and decorate for the a approval of others , your home clearly a labor of love for your family , very cozy and inviting , well done .

Yes, so true! Your home should not be showroom to impress others. It is YOUR calling card based on your personal inspirations, interests, passions, lifestyle, and/or preferences.

It is a lovely house but I wouldn’t say it is unique it looks like many house and garden / farrow and ball Instagram posts. I don’t think we intentionally follow trends but we are all influenced by them subconsciously. The colour drenching in the grotto, strong coloured bookshelves in there and the snug / tv room, cane used on the doors of the bookcase, all very current trends and popular right now.

One of the best issues of Homeworthy ever- Very down to earth yet playful, fun and so colorful- so Scandinavian IMO. I am very glad she told us the names of the mfgs. of the rugs and the artists who created the designs. Makes it much easier to find some of the things she has used in her home so we can too. This should be the template for all future videos- have the owners of the home explicitly detail where they got the furnishings or textiles. Thank you so much for this one.

Over the last few weeks I have searched KZbin exclusively for nordic inspired home content, to no avail. What do you know... Today Homeworthy pulls through with this quintessential heritage inspiration? I want to say I'm surprised, but I'm honestly just convinced there are geniuses working for this team of people, answering the universal call of the viewers lol. Thank you so much for all involved with the making of these videos.

I’m also a pattern designer and I found her to be such a kindred spirit! I relate to the way she noticed at a very young age that she loved homes that people took the time to decorate and make it so personal and comfortable. I hadn’t heard someone describe it quite that way before. I loved her home so much! Every detail was special and now I need to visit Sweden 😊 thank you so much for sharing your lovely home! ❤

I’m from Canada 🇨🇦; I understand the dark winter’s, luckily I face south and get brilliant light. Your style is very similar to mine, I get things I love, I love thrifting! I’m a professional artist so anything hand crafted and a ton of textiles live in my house. I’m so glad you choose not to do the typical Scandinavian design, which is way over done and boring. Your home is warm, fun, and I hope other Swedish people embrace more colour like you 🌈🇸🇪🦄 Stay well!! 💜💜💜

Your definition of home really resonated with me: Home is my kids' childhood... this is their safe space. I feel the same as you. Due to finances and skill, we haven't reached perfection in our home like you have, but I am also a homebody, and I love what we have and love trying to make it better, too.
@StephenHeigh11 күн бұрын
Very warm and charming. I enjoyed that she talked about her background because graphic designers make good textile designers and painters. I can relate and have worn many hats in design, and I like how everything in interiors informs us on the blending of various design elements in a home. I see great taste in the artwork selected and that eclectic mix from traditional to modernist utilized so well in the home. I can see her home is uniquely her families and she is respectful of everyone's needs. I love her appreciation for her grandmother's chair and that's very special. It's what a home is all about and is the soul of a home. There's a presence in that that brings peace and tranquility. We must honor the past. It is so important to recognize what came before us and make those heartfelt connections. I have several pieces in my home that were my parents and it's cool to realize they had really good taste. You get to share in the beauty they saw and lived with. It's a feeling of belonging to something much bigger than ourselves. Homes tell stories and should tell lots of stories. Its why collecting vintage is important as well in a home because it invites other stories into the home. This is another great house tour by Homeworthy.

I totally agree on the minimalist and scandi point. I'm from Sweden myself and it really perplexes met that this is the general consensus.
@MTMF.london13 күн бұрын
I've always wondered myself. Swedish ceramics, Norwegian and Finnish textiles are all well known for their vibrant colours and patterns. Ceramics by Nylund, Lindberg, Triller; textiles by Isola and Ratia for Marimekko; Roros tweeds from Norway - none of them could be considered minimalist. Quite odd actually.
@yas_makk5 күн бұрын
@MTMF.london I wonder if it's a case of the styling? It's never really about print on print as you see in maximalism. The prints in Swedish styling are typically main features and not accompanied by competing pieces. It's never busy, lines are very defined. But I'm perhaps thinking more 1980's onwards.

I am a mother of 4 so I can relate to stretch marks, I just wonder why you don’t have it in your bedroom since you love it so much and have it in the boys hang out room and they don’t like it. Just curious, not judging. I have a canvas of a woman I looove as well but have it in my bathroom, she just seemed perfect there and I see her every day. It’s of a woman from behind though. Our bodies go through so much during pregnancy and delivery and I know everyone does not get stretch marks but in general I think we should because to feel beautiful regardless and men should because to find beauty outside of what airbrushed magazine photos teach them is beautiful.❤I love that you have your grandmothers chair in her favorite personally chosen fabric. That makes it more special. I would love to design wallpaper and rugs. I love color and texture and mixing different prints and styles. It’s fun and adds interest. I am the black sheep of my family, my siblings homes look like a magazine where Everything matches. I lived in Japan for 3 years and have 4 pieces of furniture I bought there and 3 Japanese wedding kimonos which are colorful as are 3 of the pieces of furniture are colorful and my family tells me throw out the furniture and sell the kimonos or throw them in my closet. I won’t ! Why blend in when I was born to stand out ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I have 4 paintings my great aunt painted on my walls too and my siblings never would. It’s good and fun to dance to the beat of our own drum and be happy doing it. I think people that do that and not conform are people who can find beauty in the most simplest and unexpected places. Hugs to All ❤❤❤❤
