Not only is her home beautiful and amazing, but so is she! What a lovely and humble woman. It’s not everyday you see someone who has the means to have such a beautiful luxurious home AND be more than willing to put garage sale finds, hand made furniture and paintings and recycled things, in that big beautiful home as well! And then be honest about it too! Most have to have everything brand new and the best of the best, in a home such as this. Which if you can afford that, there’s nothing wrong with that either. But it’s very rare to see someone so comfortable and happy to use thrifted and handmade and recycled things in their brand new designed big beautiful home. What a treat this was. Thank you for opening your home to us and thank you Homeworthy for this great tour and episode.

What made this video so dynamic was our hostess. She was a wonderful presenter and seemed effortless on her part because she was talking about her family and the things in her home, all of which she loved ~ and it showed. I feel she could live in very small home and make it look seamless. Her personality is genuine....I loved this! Thank you Homeworthy for bringing us Carrie to share.

I absolutely love it when the home owners are young and have this “old soul” taking pride in the homes they have created; I love that they take the time and effort to entertain with style. Children in and out of the home, Birthdays, Baby Showers, Bible Study!!!! The wine closet is my favorite feature in this home! I love this cute lady and her beautiful home! I just wanted to say that this lady has such a big beautiful home yet not pretentious or pompous or fake. She could have said that she collected everything and lie about where they came from like cherish or somewhere else. Instead she mentioned garage sales, thrift stores, yard sales and much more. And she made a lot of things too. Don't get me wrong, this is a very wealthy person and lives in a luxurious wealthy home but she knows how to hunt for stuff.

I just love how enthusiastic and generous Carrie is in sharing her wealth of experience in creating a lovely family home. She doesn’t just speak about the practical and the design considerations in her choices. Her family and friends really come to life as she describes the loving thought she invests into each detail from how her husband’s feet will sink into the carpet each morning, to the blankets the kids will snuggle into while doing homework and the best way to encourage their help with chores, to the beautiful poolware kept in the gorgeous bar where her favorite thing is how her friends share from the heart there. I could go on and on by how deeply touched I was by this very talented, fun and down to earth young designer and mother of four, but I’d be here all day! I had to laugh when she shared the story of her children worrying that maybe she wasn’t paying enough for the purse.😂 My husband’s reaction to a great bargain like that was, “We can’t afford to save that much money!” I just want to add that I’ve been so impressed by how many young women mention that they get together for Bible study. But Carrie does stand out. In her dressing room, she had a true look of child like wonder gazing at the artistry of the marble slab. I’m sure The Lord will remember that she thought to thank Him. I sure will remember her too.

I absolutely loved seeing this video and all the DIY projects!! As an avid yard saler, thrift store shopper and DIYer, I do believe that chic decorating doesn't have to be expensive. It was also very refreshing to hear how she hosts the ladies Bible study group in her home. I wondered if she would share the brand name of the faux pink peonies she buys on Amazon? I love this house. Especially how she furnished it with high and low decor. It looks comfortable and welcoming. There is one part of this video that sticks out to me, unsure if this was a missed finish during construction, but at 11:10 the outlet that has trim cut around it appears to be unfinished? You can see the cuts in the surrounding molding that appears to be missed and unfinished with either caulking or wood filler…

I will implement some ideas in my small humble midwest home.
