Mid century shouldnt look like the Jetson's live there. Mid century can handle almost anything including Hollywood Regency glamour and excess, modern Italian, French, it is endless. I live in a mid century home in Florida and I love it. I grew up in a mid century home. This is such a beautiful home.

Serene is the word that describes how i feel about this property. From the inside to the outside, the design and use of glass is balanced and casual but elevated. Beautiful pups too. Keeping the grounds as a focal point is wise, as it’s beautiful. Hats off to ya!!

I am ok with mid-century in 'very small' doses, but this interior (opposed to the outside architecture) did not chanel that or what I was expecting from the description at all. To the contrary, this house looked functional, warm and completely stunning!. It gave me more of a very refined, diluted or scaled down eclectic vibe. And the landscaping design and aesthetic for me, (as a person who is not 'green fingered' or into multi-coloured flowers everywhere), was spot on. Finished off (with what is my garden dream of having), an enormous, wise and decades old tree dominating and sheltering the whole thing. Wow!.

Thank you for sharing your mid century ranch house. It is incredibly beautiful and I do not like ranches. I like the modern feel, the warmth of the light woods with the silver, glass, carpets, rugs. You must have like 2 acres of land and with all those manicured gardens keeping serene beauty, greenery and privacy from the noise and traffic of the neighborhood. We have not seen your powder rooms, your ensuite and your bedroom. Perhaps in a future video which will include the full renovation of the kitchen in the guest house/pool house. It is all outstandingly beautiful. Great job with the 4 dogs not leaving hair, mud all over the house. Thanks again.

All homes should be built to accommodate the elderly and disabled. This will be better for everyone. Large wide doorways and hallways make using a cane, walker or wheel chair much easier. Bathrooms or wet rooms need to have flat floors and no shower hump or pan. A flat floor allows for easy access and drains need to provided. Easy to use lever door and faucet handles are easier for the elderly to grip and open. Main floors should include a master bedroom, restroom, shower, laundry and wide walk in closet with few steps to enter. Homes should be designed with aging in place in mind.

"Most people don't like marble". Huh? I never heard that before. Marble probably is still the most popular stone for interior design. It's also popular in the kitchen, even though it's more problematic than quartz. I absolutely love the floor plan of this house. It's perfect for my taste. While I like the decor for the most part, I would put in some colorful accent pieces throughout the house as eye candy. The formal living room and sun room are my favourite spaces. Again, I would be more daring with the back yard, have something more flashy as a contrast out there. You look outside in the backyard, but there is nothing really that catches your eye, which is a missed opportunity. Overall it's a dream house. I would volunteer as a guest anytime :).

Beautiful! I usually like 18th and early 19th C. decor, but I also believe that the decor should fit the style of the actual building. This decor would, IMO, not fit into into a Colonial style home. However, it is beautiful for this particular home structure. I think that I like all forms of style in the right setting, and this home is just that! I gravitate toward the antique, however, but would have no qualms about this home. Of course, a lot has to do with the owner's style in each case, and this case is spectacular. Also, open concept makes your home look like a furniture store as there is no structure.

@StephenHeigh3 ай бұрын
I agree. It has a commercial feel to it like a conference center. It could be stunning with more warmth and more a diverse art selection. I did not find much of the art appealing and I'm a painter and designer. I think he said he has a gallery pick works for him which is never something anyone should do. Art should be a very personal selection. I watched this video and had a thought of can anyone just make a home video without trying to be the main character in the video? I want to see the home not the owner or decorator. I would just like to hear the explanation of the how and why's and not the person. We are in this weird celebrity age where everyone wants to be seen. I think we could get more out of interior design videos if the owners and designers got out of the way. There's just too many videos where you get lost in watching the person than the home. Damn you Architectural Digest Open House videos, you started this! Just kidding...I don't know how it all came about, but I might be right. It's great to hear the owner's voices. I just want them to move out of the frame of the camera.

In fact, I'm having an impossible time believing it was built in the MCM time period. Nice place, but nothing truly MCM in design or drop dead gorgeous.
@StephenHeigh3 ай бұрын
I agree that the interior missed the mark. It felt like a conference center and not a home. It could be so great, and the lack of real design experience is exposed here and so it ends up being disappointing as a video of a home. I had high hopes at the introduction of the video, and it turned into a tough watch. There's no doubt it's a great property but it could be so much better. I think he said he has a particular gallery pick out the works of art. That's just wrong. It's why it looks like an office. The owners think it's great and I guess in the scope of all of it that's all that matters.
