I have seen hundreds of videos showcasing people's homes and apartments from all over the world, but for me, there are no living spaces as unique and entertaining as the ones that are decorated by New Yorkers! There is a vibe that does not come through when viewing other domains in any other part of the world for me. This apartment is marvelous. I love the way Christene has utilized every bit of space in her apartment for her and her family's benefit. I honestly enjoyed watching this video.

And where are you from ? I am from EU and I always got impression that NYC apartments are overcharged/even kitschy. That’s why I wonder where are you from ?
@auroratorres78733 ай бұрын
@@karo1922 I was born and raised in New York City and I stand my ground. No one designs their space more uniquely than New Yorkers. So what if some apartments are kitschy. That is part of the uniqeness in the design. And yes, most apartments charge super high rents, but there are those who can afford to pay it and do.
@karo19223 ай бұрын
@@auroratorres7873 That’s explains why you like the NYC apartments the most. When I said overcharged- I referred to the number of objects. Myself I am more into Scandinavian style, good design but few pieces. It doesn’t mean that one or other is wrong, it’s just our cultural background.

I love that they have hung the daughter’s art and allowed her to contribute to the decor of the home. It’s always weird to see home tours where children live and there is zero evidence of them living there. It’s an important parenting technique to encourage their art making and instill an appreciation for not just art, but for their collective family home. Bravo!

I love when rich people who could live bigger choose to live small and thrive in their space. It's partly a New York thing for obvious reasons, but also a decision to have a smaller footprint. Also, small or big, this is a unique space full of creativity and personal touches.

Oh yay! I so enjoy Christine Barberich and her vibrant, eclectic home. So happy to see her on Homeworthy. I've been following her work for years, since Refinery 29, which makes it's so great to see her and her home featured in media besides her newsletter. Her newsletter is a must read, btw. I’m always glad to see collected loved in homes over the overly designed homes. The people complaining about supposed clutter are too funny. Do they nit realize that people who love these sorts of homes would think their overly minimalist homes are boring?

My interest in Christene has been kindled over many a year (I’m thinking perhaps 25ish years or so?) via her work at Refinery 29 and beyond. I’m thinking about how enormously rewarding it is to not only see how the elements of her home harmonize so seamlessly in the photos that one sees on her social media galleries, but in the flow of a nice long film such as this… It’s such a massive TREAT‼️What impresses me enormously about this lady is knowing that her passion for vintage is on such a vast scale that one cannot help but be impressed by her ability to “rein it in” in her tiny home so that her objects & art seem to speak to each other within the realm of the small vignettes that they’ve been placed in. I’m also thinking that if Christene and I were to do an apartment swap for one week, we’d nearly feel like we were simply staying in our own pied-à-terre… Our spaces and wardrobes are so similar. Thanks to the artful efforts of Homeworthy, we get to sneak a substantial peek inside some of the most magical spaces around the globe and I’m 100% here for it!❤

This apartment seems to be a bit controversial between the more minimalist and maximalist fractions. I love it, and unlike some other commentators I do see a lot of intentional design, but it's broken up with seemingly eclectic objects that are art work or have a specific meaning for the owner. I think the brightness and high ceiling of the central space makes it work so well, it feels inspiring and cheerful to me.

I found a beautiful Japanese vase sitting right on top of some cartons and bags left out for trash collection on my way walking to my mom's house one day. It seemed as if someone was moving and cleaning out their house as it was in front of a very pretty one family private home. I snatched it up and put it in my bag and was tempted to look through the rest of the trash there but did not want to attract any attention and was just glad to have already found such a treasure. It is a gorgeous shade of blue with painted on Oriental style branches and approximately 6 inches tall and in perfect condition. Till this day, I am still puzzled as to why someone would discard it that way and as if it was waiting for me by the way it was just sitting on top of everything else.

What an innate sense of colour and style! The juxtaposition of the ordinary (packing material) with really iconic, designer stuff (and often picked up off the NY street - only in NY - or purchased for a pittance, years ago) that this woman (and maybe partner also) have chosen is awe-inspiring. I will never have the artistic sense that this home has, even if I aspire to have it. The child seems to be a budding artistic. Also, for god's sake, there is stuff stuck up with painter's tape or wild pink tape and it works! I love it so much.
