Very informative video Sean. Great job!.. and the youngsters are looking real nice! Good choice with the Apple Cider Vinegar and the garlic. I always added it to the water for about 3 or 4 days a week, then just fresh, clean water for the last 2 days.

Nice vids Sean looking forward to seeing your progress in the up coming young bird season. What about your GPS tracker do you use the information to try and train/correct the path you wish your birds to take? I ask this because I have purchase one and hope to do the same, we fly in almost the same conditions from Island to Island with spans of 90 miles of pure water between Islands so I am very interested in the way your birds perform. Hello from the Caribbean Island of Trinidad
@alohapigeons94406 жыл бұрын
Thanks Anthony. I have not been training for a while but I will be using the gps rings a lot this upcoming season, including off island so it should be interesting.

Thanks for the tips especially the extra food you give them. At what stage do you start taking your young bird on training trips? I have been letting my birds out for like two weeks now and they seem to know our house but don't want to take them out too early.
@alohapigeons94406 жыл бұрын
Normally I will wait until the birds fly out of sight for about 30 minutes before I start taking them on the road. And I start close, only a few miles.

Aloha Sean. You look to be having a great start this breedind period. Whats inside the nest bowls? I used sand and long pine needles. I like the selection of grit you give them. Back in my day we just used red grit or oyster shells. The pink powder wasnt used and probably wasnt available back then. Keep the vids coming. People are responding and asking questions. Looks like you are sparking some interest in the sport. Thats a good thing. Aloha...
@alohapigeons94406 жыл бұрын
Thanks Brian. I'm using sand this year. I was thinking about using some pine needles so they can go through the motions of making a nest and it should keep bugs away.

Nice videos!!! I have my breeders ready for this season. I want to make my loft for 100 pigeons but I still have no idea how to do it .. any ideas that can help me?
@alohapigeons94406 жыл бұрын
Thank you fernando 9416! 100 birds is a great young bird team. The bigger the loft the better. Should have more perches than birds with enough ventilation so the birds don't get respiratory problems but at the same time there should not be a direct draft hitting the birds. Best of luck on your future build.

Hi Sean I can’t wait to see your new loft construction. When are you going to start building. Also what size is your old loft ?
@alohapigeons94406 жыл бұрын
Just started construction today. The old loft is 8ft by 8ft but that includes the landing board which is about 2 feet. Hope I can get it done soon because it will be needed it for the young birds. Thank you for your support, it helps to motivate me to finish this last loft. Aloha!

what happen to the Baby King pigeons u were hoping to hand raise??
@alohapigeons94406 жыл бұрын
They had three rounds and none of their young survived. I even put some of their eggs under a foster pair but no matter what I did the young were either to weak to get out of the egg or died soon after. I have since separated them and will be treating and vaccinating for salmonella before I try to breed them again.
