Heroes of Might and Magic IV is a turn-based strategy game developed by Gus Smedstad through New World Computing and published by the 3DO Company for Microsoft Windows-based personal computers in 2002. A Macintosh port was subsequently developed by Contraband Entertainment and released by the 3DO Company. The fourth installment of the popular Heroes of Might and Magic franchise, it is the sequel to Heroes of Might and Magic III, and was the last to be developed by New World Computing.

Conclusion: Elf: sucks @ss vs White Tigers: giga chad Griphons: not bad but poor growth vs Unicorns: similar, but bigger growth, so generally better Phoenixes: about average vs Faerie Dragons: giga chad Cerberus: sucks @ss vs Ghosts: utility unit for aging Venom Spawn: giga chad vs Vampires: even giga chadder Devils: not the worst but below average vs Bone Dragons: about average

I wouldn't base the entire tierlist on one specific case though. If you think about it, while elves are worse in direct combat then tigers with worse stats and low durability, they do have the better synergy with the faction nature as a whole. For example, quicksand/waterelementals make a very good setup for ranged units, due to quicksand actually reducing not only movement speed but also defense values making these arrows very painfull. Obviously, the druid's wasp swarm stunlock makes elves very safe damagedealers too. However in this particular case, elves will be pretty weak, due to both dragons and skellies being nearly immune to ranged damage, ghosts, vamps and devils and dragons and imps being too fast and Venom spawns being the canon that isn't made of glas. Undead dragons are obviously much better then just average, not only due to their 275 health and their no retaliation attack, but also being Undead in H4. With how many high tier mind spells H4 has (Cloud of confusion, Hypno, blind, berserk, nightmare's terror) and the many undead-exclusive spells (hand of death, wasp swarm, ghost's aging, medusas's stone skin, poison) Undead dragons have kind of a low tier magic immunity. Phoenixes are also actually very strong. In many neutral fights you would not loose them due to their resurrection. Its just that death having imps and a spell that doubles mana costs is kinda crippling. While the fairy dragon is obviously a really powerful unit bypassing defense values through magical damage, there are definetely situations in which one would wish to have the phoenix over the fairy dragon: fighting Goblin knights or black dragons is one of these examples. Even a high-health and high-ranged-damage unit, like a Gargantuan stack or even a catapult stack would be much more bearable with a quick gapeclosing flying bird at one's side, rather then a magic-damage backliner.

Well, I think it would be a bit more appropriate to include a small number of beehives or water elementals in the nature pack, because in general these units could have been considered by the creators as part of the army of that castle.

That would be unfair, why would it be appropriate? Then you might as well include the Breeding Pen bonus, when testing the Might faction.

​@@ClydeShadow6 I think, it would be fair, because It would better represent the dynamics of the castle's growth and specifics. And yes, I would also include the Breeding Pens, but not with the 1.5 coefficient, more like 1.2, because you wouldn't have them from the first week on, just like the Portal in the Nature fraction.

@@ClydeShadow6 well yes, the point is, Death castle doesn't have an alternative to Portal. So testing without portal, which is Nature's advantage, is unfair.

I imagined that with the tiger it was better and the second strongest level in the game after the golden golem, the elves do little damage and are not very effective against the undead, the same thing for the phoenix which is very strong but not very effective against the undead , better the fairy dragon. o next clashes with the elves will certainly be at a loss, the unicorn is strong but cannot use its blinding effect against the undead, too bad.
