Oy vey! It's not the word used but the thought or action described that is important. Scripture is clear about what homosexuality is and what God thinks about it. You won't change God's will by searching for legal technicalities and loopholes. Imagine how ridiculous you would look standing before the judgement throne of Almighty God and pleading as defense, "The word homosexual doesn't appear in the Bible."

What matters is the truth whether it's a legal technicality or not. If it was added and it is proven a fact then that's truth. Referring to your belief that it's not the word used but the thought or action being described that is important. So what about murder? There must be a title to describe the action. Concerning about the word of homosexual being added, it would be important to look at context as well as everything else being looked at.

Jews used the Hebrew phrase mishkav zakar, which means “lying with a male,” to describe male-to-male sexual contact. I truely wish this wasn't the case, I've lost soany friends because they think i don't approve of their relationships, i don't care if someone has sex with anyone, God says any sex outside of a married man and woman is a sin and i just need to accept that, look at my own sin and if my friends choose to believe in God they need to figure out if they want a relationship with God or an unmarried relationship with someone else on earth. I'm just so glad i have never had to deal with this issue myself. I don't see what the issue is, in order to follow God we all have to change and sacrifice, we just all have something different to sacrifice and work on. Ultimately, my relationship with God is more important than anything else so i just need to work on that and forget all the things i did before i accepted him in to my life.

Actually God was talking about men who slept with boys, at that time they did it a lot, there was even a king in Greece that married a boy cut his thing and made him into a trans. God heavily hated sexual predators more than the church. And laid that out and they changed it the word taken from Germany to mean men and men when it was men and boy.

@@JasmineM007 all good, my wife is a Messianic Jew so I've done nearly 5000hrs of research in to the hebrew and greek, when you research it in the contex of tradition and language there really is absolutely no room for doubt. Same with most of the bible, when taken from the culture in which it was written, its very black and white. The problem i have found in my own research is many Christians look at the bible with the eyes of their own culture, we need to remember Christianity is a faith based in Jewish tradition and so therefore we must look at it with the eyes of the people who it was written for and by.

The Bible twice, first in the book of Deuteronomy. Second, in the last chapter of revelation about not adding anything to the Bible, subtracting from it. This video was clearly done to try to subtract what God's word clearly stated about marriage. The Bible so clearly talks about apostasy everywhere in the latter days. The author of Revelation was referring to his own work. After all, he wrote it a few hundred years before there was a Christian canon. He didn't know there would ever be a canon or that his work would be in it. Rather, people copying manuscripts were known to alter things to fit their doctrine. Just ask church father Origen (not in his apologetic work Against Celsus). The curses promised to copyists who changed the text was far from unique to Revelation, and is included in many texts that didn't make it into the canon. Until about the 4th century, copying was done by lay people, usual just some rich person who hosted a church gathering at their home. Most of our variations among texts come from this time period before professional scribes took over the task. Speaking of the formation of the canon, Revelation was hotly debated, but ultimately it was included, because not many texts supported the trinity (especially the ones that hadn't been edited to support it such as the Johannine Comma found in most modern English bibles).

@@emalee8366 Your response has several problems with it. First, it was well known that ancient texts were preserved by scribes who spent years copying ancient texts to make sure they where correct. Example, the books of Isaiah, and Daniel have proven to be word for word quit recently discovered ancient texts that have been found since the 1800s. Second, there's ample proof of the trinity in the Bible. Jesus Christ clearly said in John chapter 8 that he was before Abraham. This was in same context that God used in the book of Exodus when he said I am before Abraham. We also have in the 51st chapter of the book of Psalms, King David ask God not to remove his holy spirit from him. Why would King David ask God not to remove his spirit if there was no Holy spirit? Also Jesus clearly told the Sumerian woman at the well that he would give her water from which she would never thirst again. Anybody that drinks regular water will need to drink that water again. Clearly, Jesus was showing his deity do the Sumerian woman by telling the woman that he could give her water from which she would never thirst ever again. He clearly was saved the woman he can give her eternal life by believing in him. Only God could do that. Remember, Jesus clearly told the Pharisees, that if they saw him they saw the father. That father and him where one.

I don't know what this other guy is trying to say, but the Bible is very clear on what a covenantal marriage is all about. It's a union of two people: one male and one female. It's not one male and multiple females. It's not multiple males and one female. It's not two males. It's not two females. It's one male and one female, joined together in marriage. Sexual relations are to be confined within that union between the man and the woman. Anything sexual that's outside of the marriage is viewed as sinful, such as Adultry, homosexuality, lesbianism, rape, incest, and so forth. These are all considered to be unnatural and sinful in the eyes of God.

There is more to that story. The RSV team initially translated a Greek word to homosexuality in the 1940s. Later on they realized it was a mistake, and that word was to specific for the original meaning of the word so they changed/removed it. That's why RSV and NRSV do not use that word. Homosexuality started to be used more regularly in later translations starting the 1970s. I wonder if there is any correlation with what was going on in America in the 70s and the new usage of the word homosexuality in the bible?

When they got to 1 Corinthians 6:9 they translated the last Greek word in that verse to Homosexuality: 1 Corinthians 6:9 (ESV): 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, (I know this is ESV and not RSV. Will explain later). This was the first and only time the English word homosexuality has appeared in both the new and old testament. Once they released the RSV, a seminary student wrote to the head of the RSV translation team, Luther Allan Weigle, and told him that he thought they made a mistake translating that word. According to that student this Greek word is very rare and only appears in all Greek transcripts 100 times, and when it does it better translates to "Sexual Pervert." Luther Weigle wrote back and agreed that they had made a mistake, but that he couldn't make any edits for ten years. Currently the RSV does use the word sexual pervert, but as the ESV version above shows and other versions of the bible show that word has stuck and hasn't gone away.

And if you don’t accept that, think back to your university days. How many points in your undergraduate days, did your faculty advisor Or one of your professors give you an academic to do, and whether or not you were in the mood, you did it.
