Riding through Apocalypse to Aleppo | Hama
Still day 2.
We continue our way to Aleppo. We stop in Homs to visit the mosque of Khaled ibn al Walid, we drive through a lot of ruins in Homs. Then we quickly stop in Hama to see some very special water mills, and from Hama to Aleppo, we drive through the most shocking road you can imagine. During 100 kilometers, all the cities and villages are destroyed and deserted, really heartbreaking.

Absolutely tragic. Thank you very much for documenting, Kino. Your videos don't hold anything back, and are refreshing from the more popular 'look at me living it up in Dubai' style. I am really impressed that despite the lack of subs / views you keep going - very, well, done. You are honest and sincere. As the saying goes, 'Dance like nobody's watching'. Thank you.

And thank you for your words. Indeed, it's a bit frustrating to have very little views and not many subs, but I do love to travel, and I really like doing these videos, so I will try to keep going until it finally works... well, if I end up getting more views at some point. And yes, I try to be as honest as possible, by just showing what happens to me, without any political bias, and without bragging about wealth or deeds (as far as possible).

@@KinoYves you will be pleased to know that you inspired my own little cycle tour, around Suffolk, UK, where I live. It's just the second day, and I've only done 50 miles so far...but I'm 55, unfit, and packed way too much stuff so even moderate hills I am off the bike and pushing. I have enjoyed it mostly.

@@KinoYves Totally late to the party on this comment thread, but it does give me so much satisfaction to see that now the views have increased significantly and that the subscriber count keeps steadily climbing so much! On a channel where it seems the joy of traveling is the main attraction, showing us everything, good and bad, is what it's all about. Great documentation, great video!

I can see the pain behind your eyes when you talk about the way things are there. It is so fucking crushing to see this and know that it still continues to this day with the full support of some governments/countries. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for taking the risk to make this video. More people need to see this

I lived and worked at Tell Nebi Mende, ancient Kadesh near Homs, in the early 1980's. Although, I had planned to do so, if it were possible, after looking at your video I don't think I could ever go back. Tragic, and too many personal ghosts. As for, Hama, I had the misfortune to witness its destruction in 1982 during the Muslim Brotherhood Revolt. I thought all the waterwheels were ruined then but it would seem, somewhat ironically, that this restored wheel survived the war. p.s. You really should learn some basic Syrian Arabic! It's not that difficult. Simple, things like (phonetic) "shuss mack?" - "what's your name?". "fee' - "have you". "ma fee" - "I have not." "Inta min wain?" - "Where are you from", etc. You'd make a lot of friends. ATB.
