Very strange yes, that it can do this considering where it comes from. I find it even stranger that it lives in water and doesn't need air to breathe considering where it came from and the fact that it has NO human or chicken features whatesoever!

considering how the water looks and that the "waste" in there could actually be some sort of poison, the fish likely just choked to death. they're very sensible to water quality. just imagine yourself being put into a closed room full of lethal gas. you wouldn't jump around for long either. also, the electrical hit the man felt, could likely be a reaction to the water tank being full of the homunculus's "poison", considering his first skin experience with it.

I believe that the electroshock ability may in fact, be a defensive tactic. Considering that it was introduced to a new being, it would not know if it was hostile or not, so, in tern, it decided to have a preemptive strike on the fish before it could have time to attack the homunculus.

I think the fish died so quickly because the guy didn't acclimate the fish. I'm kinda a fishkeeping nerd, so that was the first thought that came to me when he just poured the fish in.

He should try testing the amps or voltage, and get blue and red litmus paper to see if the waters acidic or basic or possibly neutral!!!!, I LOVE THIS SERIES

What to do next: 1. At least measure the voltage of the liquid. Check if this is an electric shock or delayed reaction to a "poison" 2. Feed smaller creatures such as a beta fish covered in his blood. Since it seems to eat protein covered in blood, this will test for if it is defense or offense. 3. Definitely, try to feed the fish directly to the homunculus. Measure the excrement afterwards for any changes in chemical composition (calcium). It might fully digest the fish or leave some bones

The homunculus is reacting in a defense mechanism to the foreign object. Go to 6:00, watch closely, the homunculus slowly rises up and pulsates which gives off an electric shock when it senses a threat.

The poison could be Acidic. Acid also has the same type of reaction on your skin. It makes sense that what it's spitting is probably excess acid, it also works as a defense mechanism against other predators.

You can get a similar response from a fish by just adding a high dose of clove oil to the water. Which would give it a cloudy look while causing the fish to respond in such a manner.

1.Use fish that is resistant to dirty water, 2.Try putting them in a swarm of fish to see if the hommunculus will feel threatened , or will it find ways to hunt those fast swimming targets., 3. ive said this in the previous series, the alchemist should try draining the water just level above at its mouth to: 1. See if it tries to bend backwards in the water (means it cant breathe beyond) 2.Will it try to evolve? Reach beyond the water surface? And try to breathe...air?

Clearly skin cells are not falling off into the liquid from the microscope test so if it is a living thing he should be able to remove skin cells from the surface of the creature. A look at the cells may prove or disprove whether or not the thing has the capability of produce a shock and if not it was probably what is in the water that affected the fish

I say he should get multiple containers with more species of the Homunculus in case one dies he can keep up a long term thing. And keep adding the creatures together to see what other kind of homunculus form. Because the biggest reaction was when the first two combined. Also would love to see the homunculus poked with a needle and extract some blood to put under magnifying glsss

It is defensive. Notice how fast the fish was moving initially. If it were offensive, the homunculus would have made an attempt to eat it or shock it when it was above.
