Complete restoration I did in 2011 / 2012 for my brothers 50th birthday. This 305 scrambler has been in our family since the 1970's and has a lot of sentimental value because it was part of our youth growing up. We had a lot of different motor bikes growing up and this was my favorite because of the 305's distinct exhaust roar with the twin cut off pipes and lots of power for a young teenager. We found it torn down in pieces and begged our dad to buy it for my brother. we brought it home, put it together and couldn't wait to hear those straight pipes roar to life. We rode it all through high school and then us brothers all went our separate ways in life. It was a pleasure to bring it back to life once again.

Beautiful job. I owned about a dozen of these when I was young and restored several in years past. The sound always mesmerized me.

Beautiful restoration, like showroom pretty. Had a '66 that was used but solid and reliable. Always liked the look of the jugs on that engine, sort of like the Laverda 750.

Thanks for bringing back my teenage years with a thrill. I couldn't afford one of the 305 Scramblers, but my best friend's dad could. That bike took a little getting used to in the dirt, but what a complete blast when you did. I think that the only prior scrambler was a Triumph TT. Beautiful restoration. PS: I owned a Honda SB90. Eventually, I moved up to a 350Four and then a 750Four.

Loved the video. Brings me back to my high school days. I really loved my '67 305 Scrambler! I still remember the only way I could beat the 305 Super Hawk was to lay flat out on the Scrambler...105mph would just inch out the Super Hawk. Yes, I lived through it but not sure how.

A great video for an equally great motorcycle. I owned one of these in the early 70's and then I owned a 1967 305 Superhawk. They were both very well designed and robust machines. I think you made the restoration bike better than a factory machine.

I used to ride my 1966 CL77 with the bottom pipe out of the muffler. What a great sound comming out of this japanese twin 305 cc ! Almost sound like my friend Triumph Bonny equipped with megaphone pipes . What a great memory ..I was only 18 y.o. ! Denis...here in La Prairie QUEBEC Canada . P.S. Watching this vid make me forget about my defective prostate...LOL

Discharged from the Army in April 1967 and picked up a used 67 305 Scrambler for $700. Great little Bike, but I couldn't ride it more than 50 miles. The vibration buzzed my but numb.

I later moved on to bigger 750cc Honda to begin commuting as I needed a job and had to escape the ghetto and this bigger Honda did the best being the most Reliable motorcycle being great on the high cost of gas back then.... I recalled the gas crisis a bad thing for gas guzzlers but I drove the motorcycle and it was The hand of god protecting me from the elements of the dangers of being exposed

I had one of these scrambler engine in a street frame It had a 3/4 racing cam It would spit and sputter at 60 miles an hour but ran smooth at 70 miles an hour, I only had two footpegs Right front foot and back left. My dangled in the air to change gears because of no foot peg there, no mufflers just straight pips and it never let me down at all.

My first motorcycle bought from Curly (I think) a bike shop just outside Yokota AB in 1967. Paid something like $450.00 for it. The 305 in Japan could come with two engines -- Type 1 or 2. I recall the type 1 was a 180 vs the 2 a 360 crank. The bike did not have the additional flame arrester on the end of the exhausts -- just inserts which you could remove. Wish I still had it. Later on moves to a 350, then a 650 Bonneville and them a 750 K0.
