What do you find when you poked the wire into the tube, broken impeller pieces? Because I found impeller pieces in the water intake screen below.

Did you use the steel rod down the thermostat intake hole? Was the lower unit off?

Am having the same overheat problem, did you find anything when you took off the water jacket cover and replaced the gasket? I have gasket on order now

Okay lazy me after the packed sand debri came out of engine intake pipe from poking with long steel rod I figured that was it reconected the water pump runs good. Had to poke out pee hole again.

Same here just ordered the water jacket gasket. Have a Honda BF 40 with a weak pee stream, more of a drip. Took the thermostat out, cleaned it up but there was a fair bit of sand in it. The thermostat works but it looked damned dry in there. Going to take off the water jacket cover and check out what's in there.
